Many people claim the Earth can’t be just thousands of years old like the Bible teaches, because carbon-14 dating gives such old ages. Well, carbon-14 doesn’t last long, so it’s only used to date things that are thousands of years old. Anything older shouldn’t have any carbon-14 in it. So imagine the surprise when scientists discovered carbon-14 in fossils they thought were millions of years old!

If these fossils really were that old, they wouldn’t have any carbon-14 in them. But they do because, well, they aren’t millions of years old! Starting with the Bible, we know earth’s only six thousand years old.
