The Coronavirus shutdown was a wakeup call for me to prioritize my own mental and emotional health and not allow my identity to be wrapped up in the success of the gym.
This episode covers a wide range of topics related to prioritizing your energy as a leader, trusting your team, and handling the feedback and input of others.
Tyler served as our business coach at CrossFit Palm Beach for a little over a year. We share a lot of beliefs about business, and run nearly identical businesses in terms of the size of our gyms, programs we offer, and the make up of our teams. In today's episode, we discuss some of the biggest lessons he has learned from over 9 years of running Badger CrossFit.
In this episode, Joe Tebaldi and I talk about the benefits of taking your gym online.
Joe has created a brand new platform called Studio, which is designed to help microgyms expand beyond the physical limitations of their walls and compete with virtual platforms like Peloton.
In this special 100th episode, I'm challenging you to use this Coronavirus shutdown to test your assumptions on both a personal and professional level.
This episode covers several of the beliefs that I am currently challenging in my own life as well as with CrossFit Palm Beach and Seven Figure Box, including whether or not to make this my final episode.
There's no better time than now to rethink how you structure your hybrid memberships
Traditionally, hybrid memberships have been built around the exercise component. This has typically been Class + PT or Class + Individualized Programming.
Over recent years, it's evolved to look more like Class + Nutrition, but even that has focused around tracking macros specifically.
We believe that the future of hybrid memberships will take on a more aerial view of the entire athlete and their goals and will be centered around accountability and behavior change.
This episode covers why now is the perfect time to rethink hybrid memberships.
If you aren't going on offense to seek feedback from your best clients, then it's likely that the majority of the feedback you get as a gym owner is from clients that are less than happy with your service. While any feedback can lead to positive changes in your business, feedback from unhappy clients can often put you in a position where you are problem solving and putting out fires, instead of intentionally building your gym around the people you want to serve the most.
In this episode, we discuss a few ways to play offense as a gym owner, including how to see problems as opportunities, and how to attack the root cause of the issues you are facing, instead of the symptoms.
