Welcome to the Career Composing Podcast - Episode #6
In this episode, we interview Lee Elberson, the CEO of Clayborne Education, a tutoring company based in Charlottesville, VA. He’s been tutoring since college, but turned it into a career after a stint in academia showed him his love for teaching others.
We discuss different pathways to get into tutoring, and some misconceptions about the level of content expertise required. Lee says skills such as one-on-one interpersonal skills are paramount, and using those skills can lead tutors to be successful in a number of different capacities. We also discuss some challenges in getting started and the outlook for the tutoring market.
We’re so happy to have had Lee join us and hope you enjoy the show. If you have any questions or would like to chat further about your career challenges, email us at [email protected]. We may discuss them in our upcoming episodes!
