In the movies sequels are great, I’m a big Star Wars fan, big Rocky fan you know my kids love the Transformers and Jurassic Park. We love sequels in the movies. Not always the best idea though in life and business sometimes we tend to repeat some of the challenges that we dealt with, okay over and over in our life. We want to break that cycle, we want to write the comeback story and we wanna use what we’ve learned in our coming back plans so I’m gonna give you these 5 steps to building the anatomy of a comeback and then the book the anatomy of the comeback. We talk about Chuck’s comeback story, I provide the anatomy and so this is a framework that you can use and you don’t have to be in the top spot or have to have a sad story, this is how do you take any challenging time and challenging for you could be hey we had a great year we just didn't hit our goals and we wanna make sure we do them. So whatever adversity means to you, we wanna talk about.

Chuck said “you just told me that you’re gonna put this dog down on Monday, if I don’t adopt the dog” and they said “unfortunately that’s true” and so Chuck left the animal rescue walking home saying “where has my life got to, I can’t even adopt a dog that is going to be put down in the next 72 hours because it’s been in the rescue for that long and no one has taken interested in it, where has my life gone?" Fast forward 5 years and Chuck has a very successful business, things are back on track for him and I think he finds it very entertaining but the point being is that we all deal with adversity in our lives, right? And we want it--and the purpose of today is how do we, not only overcome the adversity but how do we take it and make it a learning lesson and have it fuel the next stage of your life or your business? So there’s all sorts of things that we’ve gone through over the last you know year and a half or so, okay.

First line of the book, what led to that? Well Chuck as you can read in the book, who is now the CEO of very successful tech company had falling out some hard times for a variety of reasons and he ended up getting divorced and when he got divorced his wife got the dog, Chuck is a dog guy, things are not going very well for Chuck but Chuck says “you know what I’m a dog lover, I like to help people, I like to help the earth”, so he went down to the animal rescue and he applied, you wanna get the dog and so he went down there and he’s looking right? He fell in love with this one dog they connected right away and one of the rescuers there said “oh well that’s nice of you to take an interested in that dog because they’ve been here for certain period of time if no one was gonna adopt him this weekend were likely to put him down next week. He said “I’ve heard enough, this is my dog” comes up fills out application and the lady reads it, she gets a very sad look on her face and she declines the application and says to Chuck “I’m so sorry Chuck but we can’t let you adopt this dog, we don’t feel you meet the parameters of what would be a healthy household for the dog”.
