I was surprised at how vulnerable Sofia seemed to be. Rather than resting in her own bedroom, she was discovered sleeping in her wardrobe, and self-inflicted pain appeared to be her only focus. This behavior does not reflect a sound mental state; it suggests the presence of underlying trauma. To claim that she is innocent of the seven murder counts against her would be unfair. She knows very well that she is not welcome here. This is more than just being shut out of family affairs, as in The Godfather, or being the target of taunts during her brother's burial. It also conveys the negative tone of the chat she had with her cousin.

She adds her trademark humor and truly makes the movie. Returning was Winona Ryder, whose performance was competent but not particularly noteworthy.
