  • Still Monday
I know some days, it feels like the sun will never come out again, and the sadness will never go away.
Sometimes we just gotta go through it to get to the other side.
Have you ever felt like Monday will never end?
I've been there, but I believe a better day is coming...

  • Who Say (Riddim)
Who say my Reggae can't rock? That's the question I was asking back in 1980 when I first wrote this. I thought I would just share this instrumental version and let ya'll rock with it a bit.
    One Love,
    Los

  • I Can't Breathe
    A song I wish I didn't have to write...
    I Can't Breathe - 6/1/20
It's a new song but it's an old one
how many have to be sung before we can overcome
Lord how long must this go on
before people wake up and see that this is so wrong
    I can't breathe
    please let me breathe now
    I can't breathe
    just trying to breathe now
same old problem passed through generations
a blatant disregard for our humanity
it's obvious to me that our lives have no value
cause if it did you wouldn't choke the life out of me
how can you not expect me to be angry
when time and time again you spit in my face
using your authority to commit brutality
then try to tell me it's not because of my race
    I can't breathe
won't you please let me breathe now
    I can't breathe
I'm just trying to breathe now
On your mark get ready get set the spin has begun
    minimization undertaken by politicians
focusing more on the reaction than the solution
meanwhile we just lost another mother's son
You sold me the illusion of America
talkin bout freedom liberty and justice for all
but I guess it depends on who you are, if you're rich or if you're poor
well now we can see the writing's on the wall
so mr wannabe don't you know your time is done
our march to the polls has now begun
never mind your half measures trying to placate
all you can really do for me is to vacate
I'll never again be able to see my children or hold my wife
cuz you took away the last 8 minutes 46 seconds of my life...
it's so hard to rise above the noise and confusion
there's so many voices out here and I'm just one
    screaming I can't breathe
    please let me breathe now
    I can't breathe
I'm just trying to breathe now
    I can't breathe
won't you please let me breathe now
    I can't breathe
    just trying to breathe now
    MAMA! (I can't breathe)
it's been a long... long time coming...
but I know - a change gonna come...
    oh yes it will

  • This Corona (Real Rock)
Hey it's your brother Los coming to you from "tha pad" where I'm hanging in and staying safe. I'm encouraging others to do what they can to try and slow and stop the spread of this deadly virus, which is threatening to overtake us. Much respect for and prayers to the ones who are out there on the front lines, at risk to their own health and safety, to help others during this time of crisis.

  • Summer Dub
I woke up one morning with this music running through my head. And as the days get shorter and we can feel the change in the air, I just felt like creating a tribute to the great summer we've had. So sit back and chill, and enjoy these days as we start to slide into Fall. I hope you have good memories to look back on.

About Carlos Jones

From the publisher's feed

Carlos Jones has been sharing his musical inspiration with Cleveland and the surrounding area for over 40 years, earning him the unofficial designation of “The Iron-man of Cleveland Reggae”. Born in Virginia, his earliest musical influence was the gospel music he heard in the church where his grandfather preached. In the mid-60s his family moved to Frankfurt, Germany, where he became fascinated by the Beatles and other popular music of the time. A few years later, after moving back to the states, his main musical interests were Soul, Jazz, Blues and Rock music, until he discovered Reggae in the mid 70s, which led him to seeing Bob Marley perform and then joining one of Cleveland's first local Reggae bands. He started out in 1978 as a side-man (percussion/vocals) with I-tal, one of Cleveland’s first homegrown Reggae groups, and then in 1984, split off from I-tal along with several other members to form the group, First Light.
