On this episode of Casting the Net, I had the absolute honor of sitting down with Maddie Andrews, Executive Director and Founder of J&E Support Group out of Liberty, North Carolina.
And let me tell you — this conversation moved me.
Maddie lives with schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type, OCD, generalized anxiety, and PTSD. In 2023, she experienced severe lithium toxicity, serotonin syndrome, and a brain injury that left her relearning how to walk, talk, swallow, and even breathe.
But here’s what I want you to hear… She did not let her diagnosis define her. She chose to rise.
Instead of staying silent, instead of hiding in shame, she created a nonprofit offering 100% free peer support groups to break stigma and build community. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work and is stepping boldly into advocacy and policy reform to make mental health care equitable, affordable, and accessible.
We talked about:
One thing Maddie said that stayed with me:
“I don’t say I’m schizoaffective. I say I live with it. I am a person first.”
Listen… that right there is freedom.
This episode is about hope.
It’s about courage.
It’s about reclaiming your voice.
And it’s about reminding you that managing your mental health does not disqualify you from doing amazing things in your life.
You are more than what you struggle with.

Some conversations don’t just inspire you, they shift you.
I sat down with Debbie Simmons, CEO of Anchor Point, and we talked about what it looks like to trust God with your story—especially when your story includes loss, uncertainty, or seasons that don’t make sense. She shares how she moved from grief to purpose, why she stopped asking “why,” and how “the next best step” can be the beginning of your healing. If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward—this episode is for you.
One takeaway that hit home:
God can work with movement—He can’t work with stuck.
When we stop cycling through “why,” and instead ask, “What’s my next best step?”, we begin to regain strength, clarity, and direction.
If you’re navigating grief, leadership pressure, family challenges, or personal rebuilding—this episode will encourage you to keep moving forward, one faithful step at a time.

In this episode of Casting the Net, I sit down with certified Mindset Success Coach and Business Consultant Jamel Matias for a rich, honest conversation about what truly holds people back, not lack of talent, not lack of opportunity, but limiting beliefs rooted deep in the subconscious.
We talk about why so many people feel stuck in jobs, relationships, and seasons they’ve outgrown, and why transition—especially moving from a 9-to-5 into entrepreneurship—feels so complicated. Jamel breaks down how mindset shapes behavior, how our environment reinforces old patterns, and why growth always requires discomfort before freedom.
This conversation is for anyone who knows they’re meant for more but keeps hearing that quiet voice saying, “What if I fail?” or “Am I too old to start again?” If you’re rebuilding, rebranding, transitioning, or simply tired of being stuck, this episode will challenge you to guard your mind, tend your internal garden, and finally move forward with intention.

In this conversation, I’m joined by Coach Teon Singletary—life coach, speaker, and leadership teacher—sharing how he transitioned from a poverty mindset shaped by a small-town upbringing into a growth mindset rooted in purpose, reflection, and action.
We discuss:
• Why transformation is a process (not a moment)
• The power of “write the vision and make it plain”
• What to do when you’ve written the goal but still feel stuck
• Why community and coaching accelerate growth
If you’re navigating a big goal and unsure where to start, this episode is a reminder: don’t suffer in silence—take action, get clarity, and keep evolving.

Detox is one of the most misunderstood wellness topics, often reduced to teas, pills, or short-term trends. But true detoxification is about supporting the body’s natural systems and making sustainable lifestyle shifts.
I had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Kendra-Lee Pearman, a Holistic Wellness Coach from Bermuda, about:
✅ What detoxing really means
✅ Why detox juicing is different from smoothies
✅ Water fasting vs juice fasting (and why nutrients matter)
✅ Hydration and how it impacts overall health
✅ Transitioning off a detox without reverting to old habits

As a mental health life coach, I see it all the time, people who want change but feel stuck no matter how hard they try. In this episode of Casting the Net, I sit down with Kam Knight, mentor, international speaker, and bestselling author whose work has helped 500,000+ people to have one of the most eye-opening conversations I have had about internal resistance.
We unpack why desire alone doesn’t lead to action, how our brain can actually work against us, and the hidden layers of beliefs, habits, identity, authority wounds, and unmet core needs that silently sabotage progress. Kam breaks down why procrastination isn’t laziness, why self-sabotage is often protective, and how unresolved pain can keep us trapped in cycles of struggle.
This conversation is especially powerful if you’re entering a new season, setting new goals, or wondering why past attempts didn’t stick. My hope is that this episode helps you stop blaming yourself and start understanding what’s really happening beneath the surface, so you can finally move forward with clarity and compassion.

Money isn’t just about numbers — it’s emotional, personal, and deeply connected to confidence, faith, and freedom.
In this powerful episode of Casting the Net, I sit down with Financial Life Coach Tina Antrim for an honest conversation about women and money. We unpack how childhood money stories shape adult habits, why debt carries emotional weight, and how clarity brings confidence.
Tina shares her journey from living paycheck to paycheck to becoming completely debt-free, and how shifting from scarcity to stewardship transformed her life. We also talk about overgiving, overspending, shame, fear, and how God calls us to steward well — not live bound.
✨ If you’ve ever:
• Felt embarrassed or anxious about money
• Avoided looking at your finances
• Wanted to give, save, and spend without guilt
• Struggled with confidence tied to finances
This conversation is for you.

💬 Share this with someone who needs clarity, not condemnation.
In this powerful episode of Casting the Net, I sit down with the incredible Belinda Mooney, author, coach, speaker, and wellness advocate to have an honest, soul-centered conversation about burnout, boundaries, and living from overflow instead of survival mode.
As life coaches, we see it every day, women pouring everything they have into work, ministry, and caregiving, only to come home with nothing left for themselves or their families. Belinda brings wisdom shaped by lived experience, trauma recovery, and decades in human services, sharing how Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLCs) can help us realign our lives with what truly matters.
We talk about practical tools like realistic goal-setting, rest without guilt, decluttering overwhelm, faith-centered planning, and why “putting your oxygen mask on first” isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. This episode is for every woman who’s tired of pushing through and ready to build a life rooted in balance, peace, and God-led intention.
If you’re longing to move from burnout to wholeness, this conversation will meet you right where you are.
What if your purpose isn’t missing…
What if it’s just waiting on your yes?
I’m joined by purpose-driven coach Chonsten Jennings for a raw, faith-centered conversation on surrender, identity, people-pleasing, and discovering who you truly are, not just what you do.
If you’ve ever felt stuck
If you’ve ever questioned your calling
If you’ve been busy but unfulfilled
This episode is for YOU.
Purpose. Surrender. Identity. Healing.
We’re talking about what happens when you stop people-pleasing, stop performing, and finally say YES to who God created you to be.
This is a special edition of Casting the Net, and it’s personal. I’m sitting down with my nephew, Joe King—the one who led me to Christ—and we’re having a candid conversation about addiction, recovery, and redemption.
Joe shares how his addiction began back in 1997, what it cost him—his marriage, family, jobs, and relationships—and what finally shifted when he hit rock bottom. He describes sitting in complete darkness with no lights, no answers, and only $3 to his name… and how that moment became the turning point where he stopped hiding and started reaching for real help.
We talk about the power of accountability, why “reservations” can keep you stuck, and why healing can’t happen in secret. Joe’s message is clear: if you want out, you can’t hide it—you’ve got to tell the truth, call somebody, and build a list of people who will help talk you off the ledge before you ever pick up again.
This episode is for anyone who’s struggling, anyone who loves someone who’s struggling, and anyone who needs a reminder that recovery is possible—and your story is not over.
