This week Sofia has Alexandrea Potts back, our resident airline expert, to talk about vaccine mandates and how they are affecting us as individuals as well as the travel industry. This week Sofia has Amanda back to tackle part two of LGBTQ+ travel! We are joined by Courtney The Explorer, and she shares all her insight from traveling the world as a lesbian. First, we talk about how Courtney is considered a “late in life” lesbian and her queer journey. Then we talk about what it was like for her to travel through Portugal, hike the Camino trail through Spain, and she shares her thoughts on the gayborhoods in those countries. Then we talk about her recent trip to Egypt, and what it was like to travel as a lesbian in a country that criminalizes homosexuality. Landon shares his insights as a gay man, but first, he gives us an in-depth definition of what LGBTQ+ means. In Tiara’s last episode, we really talk a lot of shit about a lot of topics, but in a good way. First, we do a deep dive into what makes a good travel partner, and what you should be on the lookout for when it comes to choosing someone to travel with. Whether it’s personal hygiene or spending habits, we talk about all of it and share some personal stories at the same time. This week we get really into racism, white saviorism, and privilege while talking all about Tiara’s experience with the US Peace Corps. Frist, Tiara recounts her first-hand experience, which does include instances of sexual assault.
