Welcome to Episode 24 of the Catholic Bible Daily Reflections Podcast (Daily Reflection #24). Today we are discussing Exodus chapters 1-2 in the Catholic Bible and reflecting on these events from a today perspective.
We see the House of Jacob, the Israelites greatly blessed in Egypt, multiplying exceedingly until the land was full of Israelites. The new Pharaoh sees their great numbers and is afraid they could become too powerful, so he tries to kill all the male Israelite babies. Moses is born and his mother defies the Pharaoh’s orders, first hiding him, and then sending him down the Nile River in a basket. The Pharaoh’s daughter saves and adopts Moses. When he is an adult, Moses kills an Egyptian and flees to Midian, where he marries Zipporah and has a son, Gershom. He will live with the Midianites until God calls him, which we will see in our next episode.
I hope you enjoy today’s discussion ❤️
