Matt has a conversation with Kolleen Losch about the years of work, struggle, and determination that went into starting her own personal training business and opening the doors to not one, but two gym locations outside of Atlanta, GA. Support the showJames Pollack is a CPA, but this episode isn't about crunching numbers. It's about finding the confidence and motivation to start your own business. James began his own Charlotte, NC accounting firm after the tax returns he was doing for his friends turned into referrals, and those referrals turned into lucrative clients. Soon after, the money he was earning from his side-hustle was surpassing his 9-5 corporate job salary. That's when he buckled down and focused solely on building his own business. James chats with Matt about some of the obstacles he faced along the way, and offers advice to those who are thinking about branching out on their own entrepreneurial journey. He also talks about playing in ESPN's World Series of Poker - sharing the table with some big name players and coming close to walking away with the big prize.

Support the showThe Butners have a candid conversation with Matt about their journey to becoming parents - and damn fantastic parents at that. From personal stories of miscarriage and fertility treatments to the highs-and-lows of the adoption process, their story is one that will provide guidance to those going through the often difficult and emotionally draining process of starting a family. Never ones to shy away from humor, Matt and Felicia tell their story with a lot of laughter, but serious issues in the world of adoption - especially of babies of Marshallese descent - need to be brought to light so potential parents have a well-rounded understanding of the birth family’s situation.

Support the showOctober is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and who better to make you aware than someone who has kicked breast cancer’s ass? Tara Daudani was your average suburban mom, working a few freelance jobs and raising her young daughters. One night she felt something a little weird and immediately took action to find out what it was, get a diagnosis, and start treatment for eradicating it. She visits CBHpod to talk about her journey over the past year and a half - the uncertainty, the fight, and now survivorship. But she’s not just riding off into the sunset as a cancer-free woman. She’s working to ensure all women (and men) have the confidence to speak up when they feel something isn’t quite right with their body. And she’s making sure breast cancer patients have much needed resources available to them as they start their own journeys through chemo, radiation, surgery, and recovery.
