Josh Nugent (Owner/Guide) Josh learned to fly fish at the age of six. By the time he was in Junior High he was giving casting lessons to other kids from his school. After completing a coaching diploma and playing basketball for Red Deer College Josh moved to Calgary. Once again he was back on the Bow river. His passion and love of fly fishing are second to none. In 2003 Josh started Out Fly Fishing outfitters Ltd at the urging of others in the industry. Guiding put Josh through the rest of his undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Calgary. I am originally from Harbour Grace, Newfoundland and that is where I began fly fishing when I was 9-10 years old.From 2007-2020 Atlantic salmon was my main quarry.  I travelled all over Newfoundland, and into Labrador in search of feisty silver bullets.  I have lots of great stories about trips to Labrador that I can share.   I also made several trips to the Yukon (where my wife is from) and I fished for pike, lake trout, and grayling on various varieties of fly. I began tying some commercial orders around 2018, and in 2020 with the start of the pandemic, I got serious about it, and launched The Perfect Presentation. PRO Team

Justin Karnes Aka 317.flies on Instagram My fly fishing journey started when i was a kid with my dad and grandfather. Being in Indiana back then…trout stocking programs didn’t really exist, so it was all about bass and bluegill..or whatever would take a painted cork popper. Once I was into my teenage years and into my 20’s..I had gotten away from fly fishing and primarily was focused on local bass tournaments. Then through some unfortunate family events and being gifted both my father and grandfather’s fly rods, I decided I needed to get back into it..and it rekindled a love and passion that had been missing in my fishing for so many years. Being bitten by the bass bug for all those years never stopped though, so I began learning how to tie streamers and it took off from there to what is now my true passion in fly fishing…the smallmouth bass.
