Paul and Apollos take over for each other's ministries in Corinth and Ephesus. As Paul meets disciples who weren't given the whole picture, the fine line between intellectualism and a genuine relationship with God are spelled out through the presence or lack of the Holy Spirit.
1. The fact that God's Word is being taught is more important than who is teaching it.
2. A ritual is only meaningful if it points to an ongoing reality.
3. Salvation is through receiving the Holy Spirit, not faking spiritual gifts or imitating Christian behavior.
Topics: Prophecy update, Repentance, and Spiritual Growth.

The work of Jesus on the cross for our redemption was total. Nothing apart from or in addition to it will accomplish our redemption before God. This is recognized by the Father and Spirit as well.
1. The Father accepted Jesus' sacrifice for our sins.
2. The Spirit accepted Jesus' sacrifice for our sins.
3. The Son accomplished the total sacrifice for our sins.
In Romans 12 Paul expounds on the greatest of commandments in the Bible. Love the Lord your God with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love others as yourself. If you ever have wondered what it looks like to live in this way, then this is the Chapter to read daily. God’s mercy moves in the believer to give his entire life to God. Our lives are a living sacrifice, an offering totally devoted to the Lord, in response to His mercy on us.. The grace of faith helps us to think soberly about ourselves and how we can help others grow in Christ. Our gifts are just that! A gift from God to which we cannot boast. The Spirit through Paul gives us a detailed look of what our love should look like in the Church and with those outside of the Church. Do we share this kind of life that Christ lived? One dedicated to God and the love of others?
1. Understanding God’s mercy leads to an intimate dedication & devotion of mind, body and soul (all of us).
2. Understanding God’s gift of faith leads us to being used by God in the body of Christ.
3. Understanding love leads us to a steadfast, humble, perseverance in trials.
Esther's life is defined by an opportunity she was given to make a choice. God would keep His promises. Her chance was to be a part of that work. She made the right decision, but she made sure she prayed first before taking a single step into an act that she'd be remembered for throughout history.
1. The purpose of prayer is to align your desires with God's.
2. The purpose of fasting is to replace one activity with focusing on God instead.
3. The purpose of putting on sackcloth or becoming hungry is to come to God with an attitude of Him meeting a need.
Apollos is demonstrated to be a man who served as a spiritual example during the time of the Apostles. He was not only a great communicator, but he loved God's Word and had the character to remain teachable no matter how well educated he was.
1. If you have something worth sharing with people better than God's Word, share it. Until then, stick to the Bible.
2. Truth is more important than our desires.
3. The greatest mark of humility is how we respond to more information.
Mordecai and Haman are a study in contrast of the kind of people we can become. We can be followers of God or something less. The results spoke for themselves.
1. The character of a man that honors God focuses on others rather than themselves.
2. There is no limit to what can be accomplished as long as our goal is for God to get the glory.
3. There is no greater example of the heart of Satan than Jew-hatred.
