It seems that Celtic don't have the monopoly on footballing headaches at this moment in time with Feyenoord facing a few struggles of their own ahead of Thursday's Europa League clash.
Robin Van Persie is coming under increasing pressure in the De Kuip hot seat and with four losses in their last five is up against it ahead of the visit of Celtic.
Martin O'Neill has confirmed in today's (Wednesday) press conference that this will be his last European game as interim Celtic manager and he'll be desperate to sign off with a win.
With just four points from twelve in the competition so far though, time is running out for the Bhoys to get it right on the European stage this season.

  • Celtic Exchange Weekly: After The AGM - Where Do Celtic Go From Here?

Following Friday’s explosive AGM (or part AGM!) relations between the club and fans seem to have reached a new low, begging the ultimate question – what is the way forward?

    Is there a way forward?

For that to happen it feels like something will have to give at the club’s side, but with that seemingly unlikely at this moment in time, where does that leave us?

As has been the theme of the season so far we’re left with far more questions than answers.

And what of Wilfried Nancy? A man who looks set to stroll right into the middle of a shit storm, following reports of his imminent arrival.

All in all it’s a helluva situation, with a resolve currently looking further away than ever.

🎙️ Join Tino, Paddy, James and Mif for the latest Celtic Exchange Weekly where they provide absolutely none of the answers to the above questions!

Just when when it looked like Celtic would have to settle for a share of the points in Paisley, Callum McGregor stepped up with a stunning 95th minute winner that now puts the pressure back on Hearts at the top of the table.
It was a win that even the most optimistic of fans likely didn't see coming however as the Bhoys huffed and puffed in an uninspiring display against a well drilled St Mirren - and its a result that could quite easily have gone the other way.
That said, McGregor knows what it takes to get a game like that over the line and lead by example with a sensational strike at the death to ensure Martin O'Neill's domestic record since his return now reads four wins from four.

Amidst all the noise of a particularly explosive AGM (more on that elsewhere) its almost been forgotten that Celtic are back in league action tomorrow night with a tricky away to tie against St Mirren in Paisley.
The game acts as a dress rehearsal of sorts with both sides facing off in the League Cup Final in just a few weeks time but any thoughts of that one must be put to one side for now, with Celtic chasing down another three vital league points.
With Hearts not playing until Sunday (away to Aberdeen) the game presents a big opportunity for Martin O'Neill's men to cut the gap at the top to just four points and to pile the pressure on the Edinburgh side who've now dropped points in two of their last three games.
O'Neill and Shaun Maloney by contrast have won all three domestic games since their return to Celtic Park as the interim management team.

  • Where There’s A Wilf There’s A Way! Are Celtic Entering A New Data Driven Era?

Momentum is building around Wilfried Nancy’s expected unveiling, with many now seeing it as only a matter of time before the Frenchman is confirmed as Celtic’s next manager.

At 48, Nancy is known for a football philosophy rooted in modern infrastructure and data-driven decision-making - an approach he’d look to embed at Celtic if he accepts what would be his first role outside MLS.

His potential appointment appears to bear the imprint of Paul Tisdale, with Celtic’s Head of Football Operations understood to have championed the move to bring the highly rated Columbus Crew coach to Glasgow.

While some remain sceptical, plenty of supporters are energised by the prospect of the club embracing a fully modern model - and all just in time for the AGM. 😀

However we’ve got here, it could mark the start of an exciting new era at Celtic Park and a fresh direction for the football department.

  • Is Kjetil Knutson The Man That Celtic Kneed? | With David Weatherston

He took Bodo Glimt to their first ever league title in 2020, and has lifted three further titles since.

Last season he steered them to the semi-finals of the Europa League before losing out to eventual winners Spurs. It’s the furthest any Norwegian side has ever progressed in European competition.

And this season he negotiated qualifying to take his side to the UEFA Champions League for the first time ever where they’ll take on the likes of Juventus, Man City, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid in the weeks ahead.

‘He’ of course, is Kjetil Knutson, and his stock has never been higher – but will he be the man to replace Brendan Rodgers as permanent Celtic manager?

Ex St Johnstone, Falkirk and Queen of the South forward David Weatherston joins us to run the rule over a figure that has been one of the front runners for the role.

David finished his career in Norway and now lives there and so he’s spent more time than most following the career path of a man who it seems can do no wrong in that part of the world.

We discuss Knutson’s journey to date, his style of play, and what he may bring to Celtic IF offered the job.

  • Is Wilfried Nancy The Right Fit For Celtic | With John O’Rourke

All signs are now pointing firmly towards Wilfried Nancy as next Celtic manager with the 48 year old deemed the odds-on favourite to take on the role.

Currently Head Coach of Columbus Crew in the MLS, the emergence of his name has led to a scramble among fans to get as much info as possible on the man who may replace Brendan Rodgers in the hot seat.

In shades of Ange Postecoglou’s appointment, and Ronny Deila’s before that, Nancy isn’t widely known on these shores and so we spoke to someone in the know to get the lowdown on the highly rated Frenchman.

Dublin-born John O’Rourke has been working in US Soccer for over 25 years and holds an A License from the United States Soccer Federation.

Just two weeks ago John was in attendance as Nancy put on a training session for academy players at Philadelphia Union before later making a presentation and so is well placed to give his thoughts on his suitability.

In this wide ranging discussion we look at Nancy’s coaching philosophy, his own career ambitions, and if he’s potentially the right man to lead Celtic forward.

  • Stick Or Twist? Celtic Have A Call To Make, And The Clock Is Ticking

Celtic’s interim management duo of Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney made it three domestic wins on the spin at the weekend - racking up 11 goals in the process - but will wee see them back in the dugout after the international break?

With no updates from the club on the search for Brendan Rodgers’ successor, fans are growing increasingly anxious about who will take the reins as we head into a crucial part of the campaign.

While O’Neill’s popularity remains sky-high, most accept it’s not a long-term solution, but will the club make a move over the next fortnight?

Talk around Wilfried Nancy (currently head coach of Columbus Crew in MLS) has intensified, while Kjetil Knutson, Kieran McKenna, and others remain firmly in the frame.

With the temperature at boiling point, the club simply has to get this one right.

    Over to you, Celtic!

Kieran Tierney registered his first goal since returning to Celtic in the summer and it was a strike that put us firmly on our way to securing another three vital league points under Martin O’Neill.

An early goal by Johnny Kenny put the Bhoys one up at the break before Tierney doubled the lead, with late goals from Daizen Maeda and Arne Engels putting some gloss on the scoreline against a struggling Kilmarnock side.

With Hearts only able to draw with Dundee United earlier in the day the result means we’re now just seven points adrift at the top of the table with a game in hand, and Derek McInnes’ side will now be feeling the pressure that little bit more.

We now head in to the final international break of the calendar year, and it may well be that there’s a new man at the helm when we return - but either way it was another good day for interim manager Martin O’Neill who’s now registered three straight domestic wins since his surprise return to the club.

It's been a three game whirlwind so far with Martin O'Neill back at the helm, but could this weekend see his last time on the touchline - at Celtic or otherwise?
The hugely popular Irishman has brought some belief back - among players and fans alike - in the short time since his return, but with the club making moves to appoint a permanent successor to Brendan Rodgers, will Sunday's clash with Kilmarnock be a final farewell for O'Neill.
If so then he'll be determined to go out on a high as the Bhoys look to claw back what's currently a 9 point lead for Hearts at the top of the table.
The immediate challenge is to lift the group following the disappointing defeat i Denmark, but if history tells us anything it's that there's no better man that O'Neill to do so.
