Kyrie Irving performed the role of closer with 12 points in overtime to drive the Boston Celtics by the Washington Wizards 130-125. The win was Boston's seventh straight.
The Celtics were without Al Horford, Gordon Hayward and last-minute scratch Jaylen Brown, and thus got 40 minutes from three different players, including Irving who had a game-high 38 points.
John Wall and Bradley Beal were superb in forcing the extra period, but Irving took control late and sealed things with two big threes. He (10 of 10), and the team (25 of 25) were perfect from the foul line.
