Boston came out shooting the ball great early in Sacramento, but just couldn't stop the Kings. In the second half things changed, and Terry Rozier put out another impressive effort. The Celtics were missing Marcus Morris with an ankle injury, but got a boost from Jaylen Brown's return, though he was on a 25-minute restriction. The game was back and forth most of the night, but in the end the Celtics and Rozier made too many plays for the Kings to come back from. The Celtics will look to keep this momentum rolling tomorrow night as they continue their road trip at the Phoenix Suns.
With Marcus Morris out tonight against the Kings, Jaylen Brown will start in his place. Brown has missed the last 6 games following a concussion he suffered in Minnesota a few weeks ago.
Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving underwent a minimally-invasive procedure today to remove a tension wire in his left knee, according to the team. With the Celtics roster a walking infirmary at this point, Irving is expected to return to basketball activities in 3-to-6 weeks.
The NBA playoffs begin April 14, which would put Irving in line for a return in the first round of the playoffs. A worst case scenario, per the team’s prognosis, would suggest a return sometime in the second round of the postseason, if the Celtics were to advance that far without their star guard.
The injury rules out Irving for the Celtics’ final 10 regular season games.
Playing again without Kyrie Irving, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart, the Celtics managed to knock of a Western Conference power.
Boston got 30 points and a key three late from Marcus Morris to comeback from down 12 in the fourth quarter and beat the Portland Trail Blazers 105-100. Portland had lost just once in its last 13 games.

After missing four consecutive games with a nagging knee injury, the Celtics decided it was best for Kyrie Irving to undergo a minor procedure to help alleviate some of the soreness he has been experiencing. His timetable will be determined once the procedure is complete. This news coming on Kyrie's 26th birthday, which he shares with fellow Celtics star, Gordon Hayward, who turns 28 today. Last night’s miraculous win against the Oklahoma City Thunder wasn’t the biggest win of the season for the now 48-23 Boston Celtics, but it certainly was a much needed one.
With injuries piling up to star players and key role players by the minute, last night’s 100-99 final over the Thunder was a morale booster for a team that has had to deal with injuries at a far too staggering rate.
Brad Stevens and Jayson Tatum touched on the final inbounds play that somehow ended up working for the Celtics, among other things, while Carmelo Anthony lamented his two missed free throws at the end.

The Celtics lost a tough game to New Orleans on Sunday. Marcus Morris let one of the officials know how he felt at the end of the game and it would prove to be costly. $15,000 costly, as the NBA fined Morris for "verbally abusing an official."
