Playing without the services of Isaiah Thomas for a third straight game – and fresh off of a bomb scare that interrupted their flight to Oklahoma City – the Boston Celtics fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder 99-96.

Scary news became public knowledge Saturday night, as the Celtics received a bomb threat to their plane while flying from Boston to Oklahoma City. The team landed without incident, and the FBI is currently investigating the matter.

With the incident in the rear-view mirror, Boston had a different matter at hand tonight, and that was handling Russell Westbrook.

Westbrook failed in his quest for an eighth straight triple double – instead, “settling” for 36 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists, including 13 points in the final quarter.

Clearly missing Thomas – whose absence Brad Stevens pegged between 10 days and two weeks – and his 7.7 points per game average in the fourth quarter (second in the NBA to Westbrook), the Celtics lost the battle of the fourth quarter as Westbrook was able to exert his will.
