Thomas scores 23 points. Bradley and Horford contribute with 20 and 17 respectively.

With his return to the floor, Isaiah Thomas helped the Boston Celtics put on a show for their Shamrock Foundation Night in a win over the Charlotte Hornets. Demetrius Jackson will give the Maine Red Claws a boost, along with the return of previously-injured Abdel Nader. The Celtics could in involved in upcoming Nerlens Noel trade rumors.

The Boston Celtics were about as cold as the weather outside – shooting 38 percent from the floor, including 2-14 from three-point in the first half and down 50-41 at halftime. That changed with a stout defensive effort in the second half, as the Celtics were able to come away with a 96-88 win against the Charlotte Hornets Friday night at the TD Garden.

Similar with Isaiah Thomas’ absence with the Celtics, the Hornets were missing their stud point guard in Kemba Walker due to personal reasons. At 26 years old, Walker seemingly keeps defying the naysayers who believed he would never be more than a rotational point guard at the NBA level.

This season, Walker owns career highs with his scoring and his shooting percentages.

With both teams on three-game losing streaks coming into tonight’s action, one streak was bound to end. Fortunately for a Celtics team about to embark on a three-game road trip, the return of their stud point guard in Thomas gave the team the jumpstart they needed to win.
