The Boston Celtics were able to withstand the absence of Isaiah Thomas – and put their defensive stamp on an Orlando Magic team that scored a season-high 124 points the previous night – with a resounding 117-87 thumping of the Magic.
The 30-point margin of victory represents Boston’s largest thus far this season.
Coming off a 124-point performance Tuesday night in Washington, including 73 points off the Magic bench, Boston’s defense was a cold slap in the face for a Magic team trying to climb above .500.
Boston heads back home to face the Atlantic Division leading Toronto Raptors in an early season showcase Friday night at the TD Garden.
