Russell Westbrook is chasing Oscar Robertson’s triple-double mark this season, yet Houston’s James Harden isn’t too far behind.

Harden scored 37 points on an efficient 8-13 from the floor and a perfect 18-18 from the free throw line, to go along with 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals – and two blemishes on his box score – 9 turnovers and a flagrant foul that nearly cost the Houston Rockets the game as they were able to hang on and beat the Boston Celtics, 107-106.

The Boston Celtics are coming off two straight tight wins and travel to Houston Monday, where starting wing Trevor Ariza is questionable. Former Celtics star Rajon Rondo was suspended one game by the Chicago Bulls.

The Sacramento Kings have been off since Monday, when a condensation issue postponed their Wednesday game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Those fresh legs helped push the Boston Celtics to a down-to-the-wire 97-92 final, as the Celtics were able to bounce back after a Wednesday loss to Detroit.

Al Horford became the first Celtics player in franchise history to record at least four three-pointers and five blocks in one game, and ended the game with a defensive stop on his counterpart on the other end of the floor, DeMarcus Cousins.

With the Kings down 95-92 after a failed Celtics offensive possession, Horford tied up Cousins as the talented big man went up for a three-point attempt with five seconds remaining. The ball deflected towards Horford after the tie up, and after the Kings fouled him, it was Horford’s two free throws that officially sealed the Friday night victory at the Garden.

The Boston Celtics went to Boston Children's Hospital to spread some holiday cheer with the patients, and Isaiah Thomas is still frustrated with the Boston Celtics play on the court.
