The Celtics trailed throughout vs the Nuggets, picked apart by Nikola Jokic passes and cuts by Michael Porter Jr and Aaron Gordon. Late in the third quarter, fading by 14, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker turned up the intensity in transition to score a 9-0 run they carried into the fourth. Jayson Tatum joined the scoring barrage, while Robert Williams and the defense held Denver to eight points and three baskets in the entire 4th quarter as Boston stormed ahead into a blowout on a 40 8 run. Grant Williams, guarding and frustrating Jokic, forced Michael Malone to bench Jokic with five minutes remaining as the Celtics bench outscored Denver's bench units by as many as 30.
