The Celtics Talk Crew recaps preseason games 3 and 4 with special guest John Karalis from Redsarmy.com. The Celtics defeated the Charlotte Hornets 104-86 on Saturday October 8 in a game that saw 4 of the 5 Celtics starters sit as Jae Crowder was the only starter to play in his regular role. This game was a coming out party for Jordan Mickey who led the team with 16 points. Followed by Tyler Zeller, Gerald Green and R.J, Hunter respectively in the scoring department. Then 5 nights later the Celtics took on the Brooklyn Nets down in Brooklyn. The Celtics faced a tougher test then was anticipated from the Nets but still managed to come awat with a 100-97 win over the Nets. This game saw the starting 5 play through 3 quarters and take the entire 4th quarter off leaving the bench with the lead only to see the bench blow the lead and get it back in the final minute off a nice breakaway play that saw Terry Rozier pass the ball upcourt to Jaylen Brown who then attacked the only Nets defender that was back to then pass the ball with his left hand behind the back to a wide open trailing Jordan Mickey for the game winning 2 handed slam. So we will discuss should we be worried about the bench knowing they blew the lead against the Nets or be happy with their progress knowing the Nets had starters playing vs our bench when the bench blew the lead

The Boston Celtics have played their first 2 preseason games since the last show. The Celtics Talk Crew came live to you on 10/3 just 24 hours before the 2016/17 Boston Celtics team was gonna have their first action. The Celtics started the preseason by taking on the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday October 4th. The Celtics lost that game 92-89 to start 0-1 on the preseason. The game featured the Celtics starting the game off with a lineup of Isaiah Thomas PG, Avery Bradley SG, Jae Crowder SF, Amir Johnson PF, and Al Horford C. The starters managed to outscore their Philadelphia counterparts 41-36. However the Celtics bench didn't look that great as they blew a double digit lead that the starters had gotten for them. Then 2 nights later the Celtics took on the Charlotte Hornets in a game where they would win 107-92. This game featured the Celtics starters giving the bench a slim lead once they took over in the 1st quarter. The Celtics bench would increase the lead to a 22-14 edge but then lost it as the Hornets would score 9 straight to take the lead 23-22 with just under 3 minutes left in the 1st quarter and the Celtics would continue to trail all the way to the 10:04 mark of the 3rd quarter. The Celtics would use the 3rd quarter to not only retake the lead but blow the game open as they used a 30-4 run over the first 7:59 of the quarter to go from being down 51-44 to leading 74-55 and it was smooth sailing from there. So we will recap those 2 games as we are joined by Bobby Krivitsky and he will give us his thoughts on what we have seen through the first 2 games.

The Celtics are only 24 hours away from playing their first preseason game as they will play the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow night in their preseason opener. Which player would replace the offensive talent that was lost with Evan Turners decision to walk away from the team during the offseason? The NBA has released the 2016/17 schedule. The Boston Celtic's after signing one of the top free agents of this summer's Free Agency class have been rewarded by being given the respect they deserve by the NBA when it comes to the NBA schedule. The Celtics will be featured in 22 nationally televised games this coming season, including Oct. 27 in Chicago against Rajon Rondo’s Bulls, Nov. 3 at the Cleveland Cavaliers, Nov. 18 versus the Golden State Warriors, Nov. 25 versus the San Antonio Spurs, Dec. 25 at the New York Knicks and Feb. 5 versus the Los Angeles Clippers, to name a few. The Celtics according to ESPN have the easiest schedule in the NBA. They will have 17 back to backs with 7 of those featuring the 2nd night of the back to back being in Boston. The Celtics have 17 games where they will have more the 1 days rest prior to it. 25 of their 82 games have the Celtics slated to play with a rest advantage over their opponent. Many NBA analysts have mentioned the Celtics in the same breath as the Toronto Raptors as a team that could be facing Lebron James and the Clevelad Cavaliers for the right to go to the NBA Finals. Having an easier schedule in the regular season could help that become reality. The Celtics Talk Crew will be joined by Warren Shaw. The Celtics have signed several more players. Resigning Tyler Zeller and bringing back after several years Gerald Green. The NBA Summer League is officially over. The Boston Celtics were 1 of 24 teams involved in the competiton. A competition that saw 8 of the 24 teams get to skip round 1 while the remaining 16 teams had to go at it to see who would face off against those same 8 teams in round 2. the winners of round 2 would advance to round 3 which would be the final 4 teams of the competition. The winners of the round 4 games would meet in the championship match. So where did the Celtics finish. Did they manage to win the Las Vegas competition the same way they won the Utah competition. Or did the team's hope of being #1 fall short. Meanwhile the Pro Boston Celtic's are back in the headlines as the latest reports have said Danny Ainge was working on a trade to bring Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin to Boston. There have been conflicting reports though as to the rest of the deal. Some reports have said its a deal between Boston and Los Angeles while others say a 3rd team which would be the Sacramenton Kings are also involved in the deal. The Celtics Talk Crew will break down what has happened in regards to that situation. Did the Celtics manage to get Blake Griffin or did they fall short again just like they did with Jimmy Butler. We are 11 days into the NBA Free Agency period. The Celtics despite knock managing to make a trade at the NBA Draft did manage to still make a splash in the Free Agency pool just not as big a splash as Celtics fan's were hoping. The Celtics signed Atlanta Hawks center Al Horford to a 4 year deal $113 Million dollar deal. The Celtic's were hoping that this would help get Kevin Durant to come to Boston. The Horford deal managed to get Durant to let the Celtics finish in his top 3 but he ultimately chose to join the Golden State Warriors a move that angered many fans not only Celtics but fans of every other team not in Golden State of Cleveland. So with the addition of Al Horford the Celtics have been looked as the biggest threat to the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference but not given much of a shot to beat them. The Al Horford signing was announced on June 2nd. Since then what else has Danny Ainge done. Did he manage to get any other legit stars to come this way like a Dwayne Wade for example. Or did he opt to focus on setting the Celtics up for a shot at Durant and the rest of the star loaded free agency pool in 2017 knowing Durants deal is a 1 year deal with the Warriors with a player option in the 2nd year. Meanwhile the Celtics summer league team has also kicked off. This is where the Celtics fan's will get to see some of the top future Celtics show off their skills.
