On our last show we discussed the Celtics having to face 3 superteams in the Thunder, Raptors and Spurs 1 right after the other. The Celtics at that point had played 25 games with 9 being against teams that can be looked at as superteams. The Celtics ended up going 0-3 vs the Thunder, Raptors and Spurs but that hard stretch also signaled the end of tougher part of the Celtics 1st half of the season schedule. Now the Celtics schedule gets a little easier as until February they only have 3 games vs superteams they have to deal with in the Thunder, Cavaliers and Raptors. That leaves 20 games that the Celtics are capable of winning with their talent. Since our last show they have played 3 of those 20 games. The Celtics 2 nights after losing to the Spurs saw the return of Isaiah Thomas as they took on the Hornets. Thomas returned to lead the team in scoring with 26 points as he alongside Crowder, Horford and Bradley scored a combined 68 points out of the Celtics 96 in their 96-88 win over the Hornets. The Hornets however were without Kemba Walker. 2 nights later the Celtics won their 2nd game in a row as they knocked off the Miami Heat with Thomas once again leading the team in scoring as he scored 23 points and he alongside Horford, Crowder, and Bradley scored a combined 75 of the Celtics 105 in their 105-95 win. 2 nights later the Celtics picked up their biggest win of the season as they knocked off the Memphis Grizzlies 112-109 in overtime down in Memphis. The Celtics got a monster performance from Isaiah Thomas as he scored 44 points leading the Celtics who had 5 players score in double figures as Kelly Oylynk joined Bradley, Horford, Crowder and Thomas as the leading scorers. 100 of the 112 points were scored between those 5 players. Zach Randolph was ejected for the Grizzlies after he delivered an elbow to the throat of Kelly Olynyk in the 4th quarter. Matt Rury of the CLNS Celtics Postgame Show will join us on the final show of 2016
