Without prayer your armor is useless to you. Ephesians 6:18-20 is going to call us to pray at all times. We have

seen that the armor that protects us is really the Lord himself. To use this armor in the fight against the evil one, we must be in regular contact with the Lord himself through prayer. Prayer is the way we access power from God so that we are not useless in the fight against the Devil.

This passage shows us that we are not an ill-equipped people. We are not a people with empty rifles or empty hands. We are a people who have been given a significant weapon to use against the evil one. This is no run-of-the-mill stage prop. It is a device so incredible and

effective as God himself, through history, has forged it for us. A tool so effective, when picked up and used, it both dismembers the enemy and builds up its holder. We have been given the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God. Today we must remember that we are well equipped, and when temptation presses in we must

take the Word of God and strike hard.

Jesus is our protection and by grace he grants us his

armor for a strong and sturdy shelter. We must put on his strength and protection to stand against Satan lest we fall away from following Jesus. We thwart fiery temptations by actively trusting Jesus.

Peace is NOT the absence of flying bullets—but this poor excuse for peace is the best that our world can do.

Peace is NOT just the termination of hostilities. But in our dark world, WAR breaks out NOT peace because humanity has WAR in his heart. And yet. There is a God-given yearning inside all of us to know and experience authentic peace firsthand. Prepare yourself to tirelessly to wage peace.
