In the garden, Jesus stepped forward willingly and in love. The arrested one was the authoritative one, and He willingly laid down His life, the soldiers did not take it from Him.

We conclude our time in John 17 by looking at the second half of Jesus' High Priestly Prayer.

This week we begin John chapter 17 by looking deeply into Jesus's High Priestly Prayer.

Jesus is clear to his disciples and to us: we will experience trouble and suffering in this world. But today we have a hope and faith in our King that he has indeed overcome the world and its trouble.

Jesus made it clear to us: in our lives, "you will be sorrowful." But He - as our hope - also promises us: "but your sorrow will turn into joy."

We continue our series in John by looking at Jesus' teaching in John 16 that He is leaving earth, but that it is good for His disciples and good for us - for He is sending a Helper to be with us always.
