After describing in detail what the last days would be like, Paul reminds us of what he previously endured during his first missionary journey. Through it all Paul says, “I endured, and out of them all the Lord rescued me!” (2 Tim. 3:11).

It only takes a brief survey of the world we live in to know beyond a doubt that we are living in the 2 Timothy 3 world described by the Apostle Paul.

God sees the human race as one family in Him. Every generation has the responsibility to teach their faith to their children.

On the throne of our lives, Jesus should have no rivals. “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” Luke 6:46 (NASB)

This week's teaching answers the question: What does this really mean for us TODAY as we live out our daily lives, seeking to please and honor God, yet still falling into temptation and struggling with continual un-Christlike desires and behaviors?

Jesus stated in Luke 9:23, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” In order to carry The Christ Standard, we must also bear our own personal crosses of humility and surrender. The necessity of doing so actually facilitates a life of the highest standard.

The Christ Standard is not simply a matter of church attendance or an impressive collection of modern-day Christian products such as clothes, books, and app. It is to be fully devoted to knowing, growing and carrying the standard of Christ in every facet of one’s life.
