Some of life’s joys are seasonal and conditional. But the JOY of the Lord is accessible

anytime and anywhere for those who embrace HIM.

As followers of Christ we must be careful that we don’t adopt the views and ever-changing definitions of the world (Romans 12:2). When it comes to defining JOY, the world often relegates it to circumstances that are good and favorable.

John chapter 4 records the encounter of Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. What Jesus shared with an outcast among outcasts, was some of the most important, eternal truths needed for all mankind.

Christians have been set apart by the Lord for a purpose. King David is one of the best examples we have of someone chosen or set apart not only to defend the people of God, but to bring them back to God.

When God created us, He also created the “good works” we are to do throughout our lives.

Ephesians 2:4-5 says that we have been made alive in Christ because of God’s mercy and His great love for us. Verse 10 says, “For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” In other words, YOU, the believer and follower of Christ, are a work (product, Psalm 139:14) of the hand of God. And we as believers in Christ are functional works…

In Isaiah 58:8, the Lord begins to tell the prophet what He would do for His people once they obeyed and fasted the way He described in verses 5-7. This week we will look at The Obedience Factor in verses 8-12.

January 7th, 2019 will mark day one of a 21-day period of corporate fasting, prayer and consecration before the Lord for our Center of Praise family. This teaching series seeks to give understanding and practical guidance to all who participate.

Throughout the world, followers of Christ remember and celebrate the greatest gift the world has ever known, the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior. Isaiah 7:14 says, “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.” The name Immanuel means God is with us.

This season of Advent affirms God’s presence with his people, both now and in the upcoming future. Our hope in His appearing, through the person of Jesus Christ, encourages us to personify joy, hope, peace, and love towards others. The ministry of grace has established our Kingdom assignment. Jesus’s presence has empowered us to facilitate presence for others (Ephesians 1:1-10).
