Sunday, May 12, 2024, we are celebrating Mother's Day with a special speaker who will be honoring our mothers. Jackie Boog, a worship leader, author, and someone who is very dear to our community, will share some of her life's stories about the love, strength, and grace of being a mom. I promise that you will be blessed as you worship with us on this special day.

Sunday, May 5, 2024 - Today marks the end of our study on "Identity" as described in Romans 8. Over the past 5 weeks, we have explored this topic in depth, and it is fitting to conclude with a message titled "The Identity of a Victor." To truly live out our identity, it is important first to accept the loving forgiveness of Jesus and then make daily choices that demonstrate our ever-growing love for Him by obeying His every command. As we are adopted into God's family, we also join Christ in His suffering to share in His glory. We eagerly anticipate the final step in our adoption when we receive our glorified bodies, free from sin and temptation. This is not a distant dream but a joyous promise that fills us with hope and excitement. We can celebrate this amazing grace as we worship and study today, knowing that nothing in this world can take away the promise of eternal life we have received through Christ.

On Sunday, April 28, 2024, we discussed a message titled "Love's Identity Determines Destination." The message is based on Romans 8:28-30, where Paul provides valuable insights. The verse reads, "And we know that in all things God works for the good." However, we often stop reading there. Does this mean that God works everything out for everyone, regardless of their choices in life? The second half of the verse says, "of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Does this change your interpretation of the passage? The keyword in this verse is "love," and that is what we discussed in detail. We also discussed Paul's comments on predestination. Does God predetermine our destination or does love? Private means that Satan, our enemy, is not included; he does not understand what is being said. This “groaning,” as Paul mentions, can be defined as the Holy Spirit's Heavenly language of Tongues or can be seen as nothing of the sort, just a supernatural groaning of the Holy Spirit within. This message focuses on the fact that God desires a personal conversation with every true believer; however it is defined. The Bible describes two distinct Holy Spirit encounters that the disciples had and that every person can have today: the first encounter for salvation and the second encounter as experienced on the Day of Pentecost, as described in Acts 2. Both experiences are still valid today for every person who would so choose. Worship and study with us to enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit and learn more of Him.

The title of today's message is "Identity that Shares in Suffering, Shares in Glory." Although nobody likes to talk about suffering, the Bible is clear that those who identify with Christ will go through periods of suffering. Just as every action has consequences, living a life devoted to Christ will naturally result in suffering. The purpose of today's message is to explain why this is so. This message is meant to encourage us, particularly during these trying times. We must rely on the Bible's teachings about suffering rather than our emotions. We invite you to worship and study with us.
