Paul Lewis is an extraordinary pianist from the UK. He is recognized both a solo pianist and a collaborator with English tenor, Mark Padmore. Paul spoke eloquently about growing up in a working class family in England, the joy of discovering music through his neighborhood library and the highlights of his professional career.

Brian Kellow was an esteemed writer and journalist who I met at an opera awards dinner where he was master of ceremonies. When I discovered he was originally from my home state of Oregon I rushed to introduce myself and to invite him onto my show. Our interview was such fun as we talked about our love of opera and our shared love of film. Unfortunately, Brian died a few years after this interview and the entire musical world mourned. He was a prince of a man. 

Betty Buckley is a singer with a voice and personality as big as her home state of Texas. She is a gracious artist and she wasn’t afraid to reveal her thoughts about her experiences in the entertainment world. 

I had the opportunity to interview conductor Jamie Laredo and his wife and cellist, Sharon Robinson while Jaime was conductor of the Westchester Philharmonic Orchestra. They were both delightful and displayed the energy normally reserved for a young couple in love. 

Academy Award winning make up artist, Lois Burwell has worked on over six Steven Spielberg films including “War Horse”, “Saving Private Ryan” and “Lincoln.” Her candid conversation is a treasured moment in my career on “Center Stage with Pamela Kuhn”.  In this, the third and final episode of our interview, her generosity as an artist really shines through.

The inimitable TCM host, Dave Karger was a dream interview. We met at the 2024 TCM Film Festival and found that we had much in common with our love of film music. Dave fell in love with classic cinema through the film Laura and its luscious score by David Raksin.
