The Revitalized Church We are in the middle of replanting and revitalizing a church birthed in the inner city to reach those far from God.  We have discovered that the prevailing church is a praying church.  The prevailing church prays for God's Kingdom to come in our hearts, homes, church, and community. We have discovered that the church lives in the Word with belief and practice.  Christ followers abide in His Word with an open heart to His direction for His glory.  This Sunday we explore our focus.  What is our focus as we desire for everyone to be a "fully functional, faithful, fruitful follower of Jesus?"  The prevailing church is a focused church.  Where is your focus?

Have you ever said those words.  Maybe a cousin came to town that you had not seen in a while and you didn't know -- why didn't you tell me? Maybe an awesome deal at your favorite restaurant and you found out about it after the fact -- why didn't you tell me?  Maybe you ended up stranded one night because of a blowout tire and your brother says after the tragic night, yea I saw your tire was low before you left that night, and you say with much angst -- why didn't you tell me?

Now, consider being on the other side of that conversation.  A friend of yours is about to enter into eternity without God.  Your friend looks across that great chasm that separates you from them just as they're about to enter their sealed eternity and they say those words -- why didn't you tell me?

Disciples aren't just known for "knowing" the Word of God, but by "practicing" the Word of God through the power of the Spirit even when times are tough and uncertain.  Do you know how to glean the truths of God's Word when you are needing comfort or clear direction in a crisis? Israel found herself in a crisis during exile. The Prophet Isaiah gave clear direction to those weary because of their circumstances. Join us this Sunday as we explore these principles from God's word to overcome weariness in well doing- "Trusting God in times of Tragedy." Christ followers are identified as those who "abide' and "continue" in His Word.  That is not only demonstrated by "knowing" His Word, but by also "practicing" His Word.  This Sunday we continue to explore our need for "daily edification" as we meditate on His Word as disciples committed to disciple others.  The revitalized church is a Bible centered church where members are excited about the gospel.  Let's learn the scriptures together this Sunday.  Don't forget to invite a friend, neighbor, or colleague as you live out the gospel as an everyday missionary.

Living in the Word THIS Sunday we will explore the Biblical mandate of all disciples of Jesus to live out God's Word in their lives as living epistles.  Lots of voices out there get our attention. Lots of noise out there to distract us. Some fake, some true.  Is every opinion as valid as anyone else's opinion?  Does absolute truth really exist anymore? How do you discern the difference?  Why are we to learn and teach others the Bible?  Why is it so important to a church replanting in the city to make a difference?  The revitalized church is not only a praying church, it is a church grounded in the truths of he Holy Scriptures.  Come discover how you can make a difference with the Bible in your HEART!

Who among us doesn't cry out to God and hope he answers our prayers?  How often do we really pray "my will be done" rather than "thy will be done?" We have been examining the prayers in Scripture which focus more on the eternal than temporal, and more on the spiritual than physical.  This week we examine the high priestly prayer of Jesus as He not only prays for His first disciples, but also intercedes for us.  How well are you doing in answering His prayer?  Come join me this Sunday as we explore the implications and application for us today.
