Love with humility. The believer is reminded by the words of Jesus to demonstrate godly love through an attitude of humility. Practically the believer is to forgive those who have wronged them. They are to follow teachers who point them to Christ. And they are to confess their sins and encourage others toward godliness.

Love as God loves. Godly love is not a fickle emotional feeling but is a commitment to compassion and mercy upon the undeserving. Jesus calls all His disciples to demonstrate God's love by loving their enemies. Godly love clearly demonstrates the gospel.
