Ahaz, king of Judah, was being attacked by neighbouring kings, Pekah of Israel and Rezin of Aram. They wanted to replace him with a king who would help them against the Assyrian Empire. Isaiah told Ahaz not to fear these kings and told him that God would give him a very special sign, a baby! His name, Immanuel, would be a very important reminder, ‘God with us.

In our sermon this Sunday, we will be talking about our relationships with each other, but more importantly our relationship with God. We will talk about the benefits of healthy relationships, hear about some people who had a strong relationship with God, and we will talk about how we can grow and strengthen our relationship with God

Especially in our postmodern culture today. So, what is truth anyway? And what do we mean when we say that the bible is true? Can we be confident about this claim? In 2023, our congregational focus will be on “What We Believe” as we build a firm foundation of faith. We will start with a New Year’s resolution to build our lives on Jesus, the Rock. In our scripture reading, we will see what Jesus says about what it means to build on the rock: obedience and resilience.

For many, this time of year is full of hustle-and-bustle, events, gatherings, and presents. It can be fun for some, but also, exhausting and stressful for others. Either way, it can be easy to lose sight of God in all of it. Join us on Sunday as we bring ourselves back to what is really important. One of the most incredible gifts that God has given us is the present of His presence with us. On Sunday, we plan to examine this gift in detail and highlight the beauty of how God is drawing us into a relationship with Him through His Son.

A person’s view of creation, the origin of the universe, the origin and birth of the human race is essential to a true understanding of who God is. On Sunday, we will be discussing the subject of our relationship with God through His creation.

God desires to be in an intimate relationship with his creation. Through his Spirit, God creates in us an awareness of the basic elements of saving faith in Jesus: sin, righteousness, and judgment.
