The idea of a blood sacrifice for sin seems unpalatable, even distasteful, to many in the western world today. However, without the shedding of blood there can be no sacrifice for sin. Jesus' shed his blood (suffered and died in our place) on the cross, as the one and only effective blood sacrifice for sin for everyone in the world to avail of, by faith in him. The cross is unpalatable, but the only way for justice to be paid to redeem people to God, and allow us to have eternal life, by God's loving grace and mercy. (Sermon)
