Exodus‬ ‭31‬:‭4‬-‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft!”

Talent is not enough. What you do with the gifts, skills, talents and opportunities that God has blessed you with is what sets you apart!

Genesis‬ ‭39‬:‭6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

“So Potiphar left all that he owned in Joseph’s charge; and with Joseph there he did not need to pay attention to anything except the food he ate..”

There were many other people that were slaves and servants at the same time with Joseph. But what made Joseph stand out and go from being a slave to becoming the second in command to the king?

Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others.”

‭‭ As Christians or believers, diligence is meant to be our default response to every task. The bible teaches us a lesson on diligence from the most unlikely source, the ant. So what can we learn?

1 Timothy‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬ ‭TPT‬‬

“Instruct every employee to respect and honor their employers, for this attitude presents to them a clear testimony of God’s truth and renown. Tell them to never provide them with a reason to discredit God’s name because of their actions.”

As Christians we are representatives of Christ in our organisations and we are to honour our employers. But is this what we do in reality?

1 Timothy‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching. For Scripture says, “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain,” and “The worker deserves his wages.”

Thank God for spiritual leaders who have taught us the word and have helped us to grow in our relationship and our walk with God. Such leaders are deserving of honour. So how can we honour them?

Romans‬ ‭13‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.”

As followers and citizens, it’s our responsibility to choose the right leaders because once people are in positions of authority, we have no choice but to honour and obey them.

Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭33‬ ‭NLT‬‬ says

“So again I say, each man must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.”

Husbands and wives have a responsibility to honour each other.

A lot of marriages are failing and breaking up because the parties involved are not honouring each other the way that God designed.

So what does it mean for husbands to honour their wives and for wives to honour their husbands?

How do we treat the elderly and older people in our community and around us?

Leviticus‬ ‭19‬:‭32‬ ‭MSG‬‬ says

““Show respect to the aged; honor the

presence of an elder; fear your God. I am God.”

1 Timothy‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬ says

“But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. Such people are worse than unbelievers.”

Our Christianity is of little value if we don’t honour, respect and care for our parents.

Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ says

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise:”

The verse says obey your parents in the Lord and honour your father & mother. How can we apply this?
