At the age of 40, TJ Rosene is entering his 17th season as a head mens basketball coach at Emmanual College in Franklin springs, Ga. The last 12 of those have been at the helm of the Lions. During that time, Rosene has coached in 6 national championship games between NAIA and NCCAA. In the Lions final year as an NAIA member the Lions made it all the way to the National Championship game. In the 4 years following the Lions played post season in the NCCAA winning 2 National Championships. 2018 will be the Lions’ first season as full NCAA Division 2 members.  The Lions have won 3 NCCAA National Championships since 2009. Rosene has accumulated over 350 wins with 12 20-win seasons, including a current streak of 10 consecutive 20-win seasons in a row.  Rosene has 3 times been named National Coach of the Year. 

Coach Rosene was born into the profession. He is the son of a long time high school coach who he played for at Oconee County High School. Rosene says, “Coaching is a rare opportunity to shape and mold the lives of young people. It is privilege that I never take for granted. My father taught me how to use coaching and the game of basketball to change lives and make an impact, and for that I am forever grateful.” 

Coach Rosene is married to Erin (Reeves) Rosene, and they have 4 children – Boston, Bella, Presley, and River.

TJ currently serves as the director for coach development for PGC and oversees all PGC/Glazier coaches’ clinics. He has been a director with PGC for 5 years. He has been speaking at clinics for years including the “Read & React” clinics with Rick Torbett and has helped Better Basketball create a Quick Hitters video for their “Read & React Offense” series.

Coaching background:

He coached high school basketball for the past 21 years. He served as a varsity assistant and a JV coach for the first five years of his career at Central Valley high school. He was a part of two state championships in 2001 and 2002. From there he coached five years as a head coach at East Valley High School in Spokane. At East Valley he took over a program that was 4-16 the previous season and had lost their top two scorers. In his time at East Valley, a five year period, he was able to take them to the playoffs three of those years and to the state playoffs his fifth year, the 1st time the program had ever gone to the State Playoffs. After leaving East Valley, he headed back to Central Valley as a Head Coach, where coached the past 11 years. At CV he inherited a team that had a record of 5-15 the prior season. Once he was able to implement his coaching philosophy and teach his players the importance of commitment, dedication, hard work, and perseverance, he was able to get the program turned around. While at Central Valley his record has been 209 wins 66 losses with a state runner-up finish at state in 2012 and a State Championship in 2016 with an undefeated record of 28-0 and 2018 with an undefeated 27-0 record. In 2017 he had a 52 game win streak and after a quarterfinal loss that snapped that streak we placed 4th with a 26-1 record, but bounced back and won 31 straight. His teams over the past 3 years were 83-1 and 102-6 over the past 4 years. He has 255 wins in his career. He won their league, district, state, and the Geico National Titles in 2018 and were named the Max Preps National Champions.

After a very successful career as a college basketball coach and high school athletic director, Jamy Bechler transitioned into full-time leadership training and motivational speaking in June of 2016. He received his John Maxwell Leadership Certification in March of 2016.

In addition to five eBooks, Bechler is a published author of The Leadership Playbook: Become Your Team’s Most Valuable Leader. He has been published in the Huffington Post and is a regular guest on various radio stations and podcasts.

 Bechler now travels across the country speaking to groups and teams on how to reach their full potential and become people of influence. He speaks at some of the top conferences for educators, coaches and administrators.  His work with teams have ranged from the NBA to the Big Ten to small colleges. 

 Doc Scheppler is currently the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Pinewood High School located in northern California.  His teams have won over 500 and six Division V state titles in his coaching career. In 2014 he was voted the Cal-Hi Sports State Coach of the Year. Doc has been coaching basketball for 40 years and in addition to his successes at the high school level, he is also the private shooting coach for NBA star Jeremy Lin. 

 Doc Scheppler attended San Francisco State University and received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Physical Education, and a Single Subject Teaching Credential, Physical Education. As a youngster growing up, he developed an intense passion for sports. In high school, because of the positive influence of great coaches, he decided to teach and coach. After earning his degrees and credential in 1978, he began a career coaching sports at Burlingame High School and working at several athletic clubs designing fitness programs. He came to Pinewood School in 1995 on the recommendation of one of his former players at Burlingame High School, and “it has been a wonderful twenty years teaching Physical Education and coaching girls basketball.” Doc and his wife have two children and three wonderful grandchildren.

Coach Jeff Depelteau is currently the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Christ School in Arden, NC. The Greenies are considered to be one of the top programs in the state of North Carolina and in the country.

Jeff previously coached at his alma mater, Suffield Academy, for 8 seasons qualifying for the NEPSAC Tournament each year, advancing to the final four in six times.

Suffield advanced to the New England Prep Championship three times (2013, 2015, and 2017), winning the New England Class B Championship in 2013. Coach Depelteau was twice named New England Prep Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2017.

During his eight years leading the Suffield basketball program, over 40 of his student-athletes moved on to play basketball at the NCAA Division 1, 2, and 3 levels.

Jeff is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), and he is a certified FIBA coach and USA Basketball coach.

Coach Depelteau is involved with USA Basketball, working with the U16 and U17 Men’s National Teams and most recently with the USA Basketball Youth Division.

In 2015, Jeff was selected as a winner of Nike’s “America’s Got Basketball Coaching Talent” contest and spoke at the Nike Championship Basketball Coaches Clinic in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

His speech, “Growing as a Coach,” from this clinic was produced and marketed by Championship Productions. Coach Depelteau continues to travel and speak at basketball coaching clinics throughout the United States. Jeff also serves as the Co-Director of Pro Skills Basketball, Asheville.

Sam Allen, a former all-state point guard at Brookwood High School in Georgia, played his college career at Reinhardt University where he was the starting point guard for a school record 125 consecutive games.

An All-Conference player at Reinhardt, Sam compiled over 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, and 400 assists during his college career. He also led his school to their first ever National Tournament appearance.

Sam received All-Academic Honors at Reinhardt and has a Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from Georgia State.

Since graduating from college, Sam has worked eight years as an Assistant Coach at the Collegiate level—at Faulkner University and Reinhardt University—including working under two National Championship head coaches. Sam also runs Blue Collar Basketball, which focuses on team and individual training, basketball strength and conditioning, and provides a recruiting service for college coaches and high school players.

Sam directs courses on the PGC summer tour and is a PGC/Glazier Coaches Clinic Coordinator throughout the rest of the year.

He and his wife, Sarah, live in the Atlanta, Georgia. They have two sons Jackson (6) & Cooper (4), and their child on the way.

Coach Joe Stasyszyn has 30+ years of skill development and coaching experience. He joined USA Basketball as a Player Development Speaker and Clinician at USAB National Academies and Regional Clinics across the U.S. He recently retired from his position as Athletic Director for West Perry High School. Joe was also formerly the National Director of Basketball and Youth Fitness at 24 Hour Fitness, where he managed programs in over 450 facilities nationwide. This position gave him the opportunity to work with countless elite NBA and WNBA coaches and players. He is also a 20+ year veteran coach at the Duke University Basketball Camp where he has gotten to know and befriend the Duke coaching staff, including Assistant Coach Chris Carrawell and Head Coach Mike Krzyzewski. Joe began his career in sports as an assistant coach at Dickinson College and later was the head boys’ varsity coach at Carlisle High School in Pennsylvania for 10 years.

Joe Stasyszyn is currently the director of Unleashed Potential, a basketball skill development company, based in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He has spoken at the Boston Celtic’s Coaches Clinic in Boston to over 100 of their Youth Basketball Jr. Celtic Coaches from all over New England at their new practice facility and just ran a Clinic for the Jr. Celtics on Dec. 28-29 in Boston.

Joe has also presented to a group of FIBA National Team Coaches from 8 different countries at the University Of Delaware in October on Effective Youth Basketball Development and recently held a Clinic in Ontario for the Premier Youth Basketball Organization for over 100 kids.
