This week Jaydee, Mo, Ovie and BJ start the show by talking about Kyrie Irving’s absence (02:40). Although Mo doesn’t wish to comment on the personal reasons for him being out of sight, he says he played himself by not wearing a mask at a large gathering. Then we look at the Kevin Porter Jr locker situation (10:18). BJ’s main concern is how quickly it became public knowledge.
In Hot Or Not we ask if it’s Championship or bust for the Nets after signing James Harden and Ovie thinks with three top-ten players, it has to be (13:35)! We then determine that the Warriors are no pushovers (31:32). On one hand BJ thinks James Wiseman has the ability to make the Warriors great! On the other hand he thinks if they were facing the Lakers in the playoffs, they’d be packing their bags after four games. In our viewer’s pick, a Celtics fan claims that Miami have no chance of making it past the first round of the playoffs, which is received by a frosty reception (40:55).
In Off The Court we look at a new dawn in Phoenix (50:09). The Suns haven’t made the playoffs for ten years, but they’re looking sharp with impressive offensive and defensive ratings. Does Suns fan Ovie think the future’s bright? Of course! And he doesn’t want to hear anyone else’s nonsense!
This weekend’s Primetime Preview is set (unless there are any fixture changes of course) and on Saturday we have Warriors @ Jazz at 10pm on Sky Sports Arena. BJ thinks Utah need to get serious and get past the first round of the playoffs (56:18); games like this are ones they should be targeting to win. On Sunday, we’re currently showing Raptors @ Pacers at 8.30pm on Sky Sports YouTube which you can view with the guys in our watchalong. Mo predicts Domantas Sabonis will be the standout player on the day (59:06).
Finally there’s a brief chat on the fantasy NBA in this week’s Buzzer Beater (62:43).
