We then look at Arsenal’s defeat at Villa Park. James highlights the state of the squad, noting they used a sixth different centre-back pairing at the end of a gruelling run of fixtures. Are they starting to look vulnerable?

While much of the focus is on the prolific form of Australia’s Steve Smith, we ask whether England are well placed to take the first Test.
