Vicky Gomersall and The Mirror's Darren Lewis are joined by Sky Sports News' Chief Reporter Kaveh Solhekol to look back on the big sporting headlines of the week. 

They review Arsenal's Premier League win over Leicester City, which saw two goals from makeshift striker Mikel Merino - could he be the answer to the Gunners' injury problems up front? Plus, where does this important win leave Arsenal in the title race? 

We also discuss a brilliant individual display for Manchester City's Omar Marmoush against Newcastle, scoring a hattrick in a 4-0 win that harked back to City of old. Plus, we look at Everton's recent upturn in form and Chelsea's struggles against Brighton.  

In addition, we hear an exclusive interview with Manchester United defender Matthijs de Ligt. The Dutchman opens up about life at Old Trafford under manager Ruben Amorim and says he believes they can challenge for silverware in the future. We also bring you an in-depth chat with Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, ahead of the two sides meeting on Sunday. 

But we start by looking back on the career of respected football journalist and friend of Sunday Supplement, Patrick Barclay, who passed away on Friday.

We begin by looking at Liverpool, who went nine points clear at the top of the table, after a 2-0 win at Bournemouth; Darren praises Mo Salah again, and thinks the club will secure a new contract with him.

Next to Nottingham Forest’s incredible 7-0 win against Brighton.  Vicky is confident Forest are in the title race, whilst Paul questions their experience.  And is Chris Wood one of the Premier League’s top strikers? Darren applauds his superb form, and with seventeen goals this season, believes he’s deserved of his new contract.

Elsewhere, Patrick Davidson sits down with Gabriel and William Saliba, who talk about their centre-back chemistry and their new rivalry with Man City.  And Juliette Ferrington talks with Pep Guardiola, who talks of the relentlessness of his schedule, the bite between City and Arsenal, and the importance of staying in contention for this period.  

Finally, another Aston Villa Champions-League-hangover, after losing 1-0 to Wolves but Paul and Darren believe Aston Villa’s disallowed goal should have stood.

We begin by looking at the title race.  With Darwin Nunez’ two late goals to win at Brentford and Arsenal blowing a two-goal lead at home, Paul mentions the depth of Liverpool’s squad and lack of injuries as reasons why Liverpool are clear favourites.

Next we discuss Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham’s poor league form.  Sitting in fifteenth position post-North London Derby loss, Paul mentions the club are trying a different route to the years of Conte and Mourinho and with a bad spell of injuries, Ange needs patience and unity.

 Elsewhere, Juliette Ferrington sits down with David Moyes, who says he always wanted to come back to Merseyside if the opportunity arose, and whilst he acknowledges he is returning to a different club, he’s also returning as “different Moyes.”

Also, Natalie Gedra chats with Liam Delap, who talks of hitting the ground running in the Premier League, looking up to Erling Haaland and his aims to become an England International. 

Finally, David Craig’s exclusive interview with Pep Guardiola, who admits he was surprised Erling Haaland signed until 2034 and attributes his team’s dip in form to injuries alone.
