With inflation figures being released today and a repo rate decision next week, it is a good time to talk about the ANC's recent new-old proposal to change the Reserve Bank's mandate. Their proposal is that the mandate should be expanded to meet the needs of the economy and that job creation should also be a goal. This is a bad idea.
