David grew up in Sri Lanka and got involved in music production very early on while supporting his pastor dad on recording Gospel music.  David continued his passion for audio engineering by moving to the United Kingdom to study. 

David talks about his very inspiring story of how he established himself in Germany through struggle and hard work.   David has worked with leading artists and record labels based in England, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, United States, Australia, Sri Lanka & Japan.  

He is currently the executive producer for Serandip Records.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Jennifer Benson, singer, songwriter, actress, and frontwoman of rock band Ignescent. Channa discovered Jennifer and Ignescent via Facebook. 

Jennifer hails from Chicago, Illinois and was very active in music early on. She founded Ignescent in 2008. In the band, Jennifer is joined by Jose Jimenez on rhythm guitar, Ian Sebastian on bass guitar, and Ben Silverman on drums. Ignescent has been primarily touring throughout the Midwest and Nashville area. 

Ignescent’s music is a great mixture of rock and pop with a positive message.  Jennifer believes Faith is the most important thing in life and she continues to create and perform music to promote this message.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to members of South African progressive metalcore band Riddlebreak. Channa discovered Riddlebreak through a friend and immediately loved their music. 

Riddlebreak consists of Julian Vosloo (lead guitar), Gordon Bosma (drums), Gareth Reed (rhythm guitar and backing vox), Roushan van Niekerk (bass), Jade Osner (Lead vocals), and Laura Atkinson (violin).   They describe Riddlebreak music as the sound of an injured bear hurtling through outer space.  

Been awarded “Most Influential band”, Riddlebreak has supported many international acts like Periphery, Norma Jean, Monuments, Unearth and Protest the Hero.  They are looking forward to releasing new music and touring.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Teague Bass from Malaysia.  Channa discovered Teague in 2017 when they open for Tyler Bryant & The Shakedown.  Teague born in South Haven, Michigan. Grew up in a musical household and he was influenced by many different bands and genres. 

Teague played in many bands in the states and first came to Asia in 1988. Teague returned to Asia and collaborated regularly with many artists including Luke Buirski(LBP, The Professionals, Dirty Perfect) and Alif Putra.

Teague is also a Yay+ brand ambassador and hosts the shows "Teague Talk", "Let's Talk". Teague believes in making the world a positive place.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Franccesca De Struct, founder, vocalist of Fate DeStroyed from Los Angeles, California. Channa discovered Franccesca and Fate Destroyed via Facebook.  Channa loved their music especially their cover of the traditional song “In the Pines”. 

Franccesca was born in Houston Texas and was around music whole life. Growing up she played in several garage bands. She was part of several bands and toured around states. She formed Fate DeStroyed in 2016.

Franccesca is very confident, raw, powerful woman and her songs come out of her life experiences and what she expects more from life.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Zoran Blagaich founder, drummer of Hybrid Theoryz, Linkin Park Tribute band from Perth, Australia. Channa discovered Hybrid Theoryz when they played at Beerfest in Singapore. 

Zoran was introduced to rock via his older brother and got into drumming early on after listening to Metallica’s Black album and watching Lars Ulrich play drums.  He remembers watching video of Linkin Park’s “One Step Closer” which made him a fan. He started playing in several original and cover bands prior to starting Linkin Park Tribute band Hybrid Theoryz.  

Hybrid Theoryz are well known in Perth rock scene for putting a great show. They bring their own production of Lights and effects to the venue which set them apart from other bands. They headlined Singapore’s Beerfest 2019. They believe in supporting causes towards mental health and suicide prevention. 

They are looking forward to an Australian East Coast tour soon.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Moni Lashes drummer from Australian hard rock band The Babes. Channa discovered The Babes via Facebook and got connected with Moni via Facebook. 

Moni who is from Adelaide, Australia was influenced by her drummer Dad. She started jamming with her sister Donna early on.  Moni formed The Babes with her sister after several lineup changes invited her brother Corey to play bass and JD to become the front man.  

The Babes are a Rock 'n' Roll Gang, who proudly create music for the working class; inventing "UNDERDOG ROCK".  The Babes loves the classic American culture from Dive bars, Hot Rods, Leather Jackets and Harley Davidsons. 

Moni who incorporated a working Harley Davidson to her drum kit also hold the world record for drumming NON-STOP for 24 hours.   The Babes are working on their next album and looking forward to tour the world again.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Jamie Porter from British rock band Jamie Porter Band. Channa discovered JPB through a friend's recommendation .  Channa loved the songs of JPB which he listened via Spotify.  

Jamie grew up in a musical home and got interested in rock music when he was 10.  His favorite artists were Status Quo, Gary Moore, AC/DC, Iron Maiden which he remembers listening using his Walkman. Jamie took influences from loads of artists for guitar playing and singing. 

He played in many bands and eventually settled for his own band Jamie Porter Band.  After several lineup changes JPB now consist of Jamie Porter on Vocals/Guitars, Danny Porter Vocals/Bass/Keys and Peter Kearton on Drums/Vocals.   JPB describe their sound as "Blues rock with a little bit of Country swagger".

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Canadian singer, songwriter Dom Mar Kz.  Channa discovered Dom through a friend. Channa immediately appreciated songs from Dom especially the latest single “Sacred Heart”.  

Dom first inspired by Elvis and watching The Beatles on Ed Sullivan show.  He picked up a bass guitar when he was 13 years old and started getting serious about music. 

 He formed a 3-piece band with his relatives named “Mar KZ”.  They played on the Toronto club circuit and also supported international rock acts like Def Leppard, Bon Jovi and Scorpions. They recorded their album in Nashville with Bon Jovi producer Obie O’Brian. 

Dom now focuses on his solo music and he explains his sound as a balance between folk and rock.
