In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Dave Hill American comedian, radio host, writer, musician and actor.  Channa remembers Dave from his YouTube video series Metal Grasshopper with Phil Anselmo and recently got connected with Dave through Evil Singing Pandas. 

Dave has written for many TV shows and also appeared on many comedy shows and movies.  Dave also performs standup , skits via internet and also hosts weekly livestream and podcast "The Dave Hill Goodtime Hour".   He has written multiple books and released comedy albums.

Dave also founded and performs with multiple bands including Sons of Elvis, Painted Doll, Valley Lodge and Witch Taint.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Mina Walkure, founder, frontwoman, songwriter of Spanish Traditional Heavy Metal band Kramp.  Channa discovered Kramp via YouTube and immediately fell in love with their almost vintage music videos. 

Mina grew up on almost medieval remote village in Spain and got interested in music early on. Mina discovered metal via internet while sharing music when someone send her Iron Maiden song. 

With her brother Lap she started Kramp in 2010 and after many line ups, the band released their first EP "Wield Revenge" in 2016.  After many lineup changes in between, and with Sara C. on guitars and Albert on drums, it's in 2020 when their debut album is release, entitled “Gods of Death”.

Mina influenced by band like Saxon, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest , Manowar always wanted to keep Kramp a Traditional heavy metal band and she have been very successful at it.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Mikko Pakanen, founder, guitarist of Finnish rock band Bom Lulu.  Channa discovered Bom Lulu through internet.  

Bom Lulu is an Oulu-based band founded in 2019 that epitomizes Finnish rock music while skillfully combining different genres of music. The band consists of three players: Jukka Ruottinen - vocals, Mikko Pakanen - guitar and Janne Riikola - drums & bass guitar.

Their debut album, “Uuteen Satamaan” (To the New Port) features strong choruses, super-charged guitar riffs, and stylish drum work throughout the whole album. The songs are about the crossroads of life, where people are faced with an extreme array of emotions, such as hope, acceptance, and abandonment as they look towards their own future.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Sali Liyanage popular vBlogger at SL Bruh and front-man of Sri Lankan Groove metal band Vāna.  Sali discovered metal after watching a live performance of "Andura" from Stigmata and later on got into metal other bands like Slipknot, Mayhem.   

Sali got into blogging in 2013 and started his YouTube channel SL Bruh in 2016. After experimenting with different types of content, now SL Bruh mostly focuses on music related content and event coverage.   

Sali is passionate about supporting causes related to mental health and strongly talk about how society should take depression seriously.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to legendary American drummer, composer, inventor, artist, recording artist Muruga Booker.  Channa discovered Muruga through Justin James Bridges.  

Muruga born as Steven Bookvich played at the first Woodstock festival in 1969.  He is also a Yogi studied under Swami Satchidananda and an autonomous Orthodox priest. 

Muruga talks about his childhood, early Detroit music scene, playing at the first Woodstock, meeting Swami Satchidananda, Yoga, meditation, painting and Orthodox Christianity.  He also talks about his many collaborations including the latest album with Justin James Bridges.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Yuval Ron, guitarist, composer based in Berlin, Germany.  Channa got connected with Yuval via internet.  Channa immediately loved Yuval’s track “Somewhere in This Universe”.  

Yuval grew up in Israel and he got into music early on by listening to his dads record collection.   At age 11 he got his first guitar and was obsessed with rock and metal and by the time he was 18 he was already in several bands and touring around Israel.  

His music can be described as “Cinematic Prog” which is a crossover of modern jazz-rock progressive music, cinematic and orchestral music genres.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Sri Lankan Guitarist Andrew Obeyesekere.  Andrew is the former lead guitarist of Sri Lankan metal band Stigmata. Channa met Andrew in the early 2000s while watching Stigmata.   

Andrew was drawn to guitar early on and he learned to play his guitar through his uncle. Suresh and Tenny approached Andrew after they saw his performance during school and eventually formed the band Stigmata.   

Andrew recorded multiple albums with Stigmata including their debut legendary album ‘Hollow Dreams’.  For nearly two decades Andrew performed with Stigmata in Sri Lanka and several overseas gigs and left the band in 2017.  

Andrew is also a qualified baker and he recently launched his own line of desserts called Andy’s.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks James Ryder (Vocals & Guitar) Tim Freyr (Bass) Andrew Bloch (Guitar) members of NYC based hard rock band Ryder.   Channa discovered Ryder through a friend.  

James Ryder formed in 2016 Ryder as a solo project but became a band.  James knew other members through previous bands they played together. They described their sound as hard rock with influences from the acts like Thin Lizzy, Guns N Roses, Aerosmith, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin.  They released their first EP in 2017.  They toured extensively around the US and also in Canada.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to South African Guitarist, Vocalist, Composer Robyn Ferguson.  Channa discovered Robyn through YouTube and immediately loved her music.  

Robyn who lives in Capetown, South Africa, got interested in guitar when she saw a street musician while taking a walk with her dad. She listened to all kinds of metal music growing up and pick up the guitar very early.  

Robyn is also the guitarist and vocalist for award-winning Metal band Adorned in Ash and toured with them over the African continent. Once she performed in front a 25000 plus crowd.  She also sings for the all-female supergroup Sistas Of Metal.  

Over the last few years, Robyn has focused on Solo instrumental music inspired by bands like Polyphia, Tesseract, Periphery.  She released multiple EPs in 2019 and 2020. 

Robyn is also an Ibanez South Africa Guitar Endorsee and Elixir Strings Endorsee.  She loves to talk about her gear.

In this episode, Channa Channa Channa talks to Magnus Rosén best known for being the bassist of the Swedish band HammerFall during the years 1997-2007. Channa has been a fan of Hammerfall from their album "Legacy of Kings".   Channa got connected with Magnus through Chitral Somapala. 

Magnus started playing bass in his teen years.  He travelled the world a lot in his early days.  He moved to LA and played with many bands. in 1997 Magnus joined Swedish power metal band Hammerfall which he left after a decade in 2007.  

Rosén has recently become involved in former Black Sabbath vocalist Tony Martin's live band, Tony Martin's Headless Cross. The band played their debut show on 27 July 2012 at The Asylum in Birmingham, UK. The show was filmed for a live DVD and is intended as a warm-up for a full tour in 2013.  

He also recorded many solo albums in many genres. He also does a lot of volunteer work with organizations like Rotary International and often donates his profits from his solo tours to charity.
