About the Guest:
Aubree Malick is a boy mom, former teacher, and host of the Freelancer to CEO podcast. Through her podcast and programs, she helps overworked and underpaid moms and (soon-to-be-former) teachers experience the freedom and joy that comes from designing a freelancing business with the skills they already have. After taking her own leap of faith over three years ago and replacing her teaching income within two months, she became passionate about helping other women start and grow their own businesses to 5K+ months from home. When she’s not supporting her own freelance clients (still walking that walk!) or members of her programs, you can find her looking for her next DIY project, binging her fav reality TV shows, or snuggled up on the couch with her boys.

They say, ‘never judge a book by its cover.’ The same can be said for a person, wolf, or shark, for that matter! Aaron Blabey, author and executive producer of The Bad Guys book series and Dreamworks Animation newest movie, sat down with me to discuss his journey to creating this widely-loved series and how it became the most recent release from Dreamworks. The Bad Guys show that perception is just that, perception. Helping kids understand the valuable lesson of getting to know the person before assuming who they really are.
About the Guest:
Australian author and illustrator, Aaron Blabey has written many well-loved best-selling books for children. Aaron Blabey is a #1 New York Times Bestselling author with around 30 million books in print. He is the creator of three gigantically popular book series for kids – The Bad Guys, Pig the Pug, and Thelma the Unicorn. His THE BAD GUYS series is a fan favorite. Featuring several animal main characters, who have a reputation for being bad (a wolf, a shark, a piranha, and a snake), but who actually want to do good. It is a hilarious concept and has spawned 14 big bestsellers and is now a movie adaptation coming from Dreamworks Animation (Universal). Aaron also serves as the co-executive producer of The Bad Guys movie due in theaters on April 22nd and the upcoming Netflix movie-musical adaptation of Thelma the Unicorn.

Specific expectations and life, in general, can be overwhelming at times and can lead to anxiety in both adults and children. Helping our children cope with the stress they are experiencing is a priority! She is also the co - host of the I am Mom Podcast.
Over the past 2 years, Shaista has developed programs such as The Thrive Kids Virtual Early Learning Academy, Thrive Mommy and Thrive Babies.
The Thrive Kids Virtual Early Learning Academy was born out of the need for young students to engage in a preschool curriculum from the safety of their own homes. Four days a week, students from the US and Canada join Shaista as she virtually teaches them academic concepts such as early literacy, early numeracy and soft skills such as collaboration, mindfulness and communication.
Thrive Mommy is a program that has been developed by Shaista, where she facilitates important discussions around mental health, coping strategies and finding purpose through passion. As a result of Shaista's ability to target all members of the community, Shaista has been able to reach a vast array of individuals throughout Canada and the US.
Thrive Baby is a program that began as a direct result of the lack of accessibility to programs for babies and mothers born during the pandemic. Through virtual, live classes, video lessons and tactile sensory packages, Shaista has been able to fill a massive gap and dire need. Thrive babies, through the use of the sensory package, enables all participants, regardless of background, to come together, connect and learn as one with equal opportunity.
Helping kids and families THRIVE is her passion

Pets are important members of the family! They are there for the good times, the bad times, milestones, celebrations, and everything in between. They have a unique way of tapping into your emotions and wellbeing, but what happens when they pass away? How do you explain that to your kids? We recently experienced our Shadow crossing the ‘Rainbow Bridge,” and I’m giving some insight into how I am helping my kids deal with the loss.

Divorce is something that you can only prepare for the best you can, there is no manual to reference. The daily struggles for an individual can be daunting but when kids are involved, it can be very complicated. I pulled the curtain back today to talk about the experiences that my children and I have been going through in recent months while we cope with motherhood after marriage and our ‘new’ normal.

Following the crumbs in the chaos is a full time job. As a busy mom of three, a wife to a traveling hubby, and keeping it weird in Austin, Texas, it’s safe to say that my life is never boring. In addition to running my coaching business as C’N’C’s CEO, I’m a certified coach for a premier virtual fitness and nutrition program helping others feel better while sustaining a healthy lifestyle. My mom and dad are thrilled that I’m putting my Exercise Science degree to good use. Along with my experience training pro athletes, S.W.A.T. members, and a high school football team, I gained 10+ years experience as the Director of Marketing building multiple court reporting companies. Lastly, I am a published writer, Content Coordinator, and Account Executive for a publication by Best Version Media. They even gave me a monthly “How to” column where I teach others how to be more self-sufficient with common household tasks. Every woman should know how their home functions and what to do if something malfunctions, man or no man. With my husband on the road, searching “How To” on the internet has transformed me into a “Mommy MacGyver”. “I don’t know how you have the time.” “You’re like a Supermom!” These are common things that people say, but the truth is that life hasn’t always been easy or pretty. Even with the bumps, I always try to find the humor in everything because laughter is good for the soul and you should never take life too seriously….where’s the fun in that?
