ONE THING: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.

Mark 12:28-30

CONTEXT: Living out a love for God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit above all else is the most important commandment.

So what is a way to know that you truly love the Lord your God?

   You are a born-again Christian that bears obvious fruit that you devoted to God.

Which of the following areas do you need to love God more?

   Heart or Soul or Mind or Strength. You can identify more than one.

LOVING GOD WITH ALL YOU ARE IS A HUGE PART OF THAT!

Based on this message what can we do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel-Centered = 

WORSHIP Delight yourself in the good ways and will of God. Look for God at work in, through and around you.

COMMUNITY Never get over being saved. Remember your first love, loved you first.

SERVICE Study Proverbs. The wisdom of God is Supreme and Proverbs is a highly concentrated source of it.

MULTIPLICATION Faithfully follow the Holy Spirit's leading in your life. Your weakness is a good thing that can lead to the power of Christ in your life.

ONE THING: Get away to pray to God every day. 

Matthew 6:5-8

CONTEXT: A rewarding prayer life focuses on God and His will.

What is necessary to have a rewarding prayer life?

   Solitude with God, focused on God.

What is necessary to have a full prayer life?

   An honest heart before God for His Will.

We exist to bring God glory and make disciples. 

Based on this message what can we do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel-Centered = 

WORSHIP Pray to God the Father. Go to a solitary place to seek God’s will in all things.

COMMUNITY Pray to be transformed not to perform. Prayer is not about conforming God to our desires but submitting to His will.

SERVICE Make the focus about God. When we pray with others make it clear that God is the one who provides.

MULTIPLICATION Memorize and pray the Lord’s Prayer. When anyone doesn’t know what to pray or do, pray the Lord’s Prayer.

ONE THING: Communion is about remembering Jesus’ death for the forgiveness of sins until He returns. 

   Jesus Christ has given and poured Himself out for the forgiveness of all sins.

1 Corinthians 11:23-26

SALVATION: Have your sins forgiven by the only one who can, JESUS!

CONTEXT: That communion takes place in a Jesus honoring way.

1 Cor. 11:17-22, 27-32  Positive explanation of the negative representation

v17 meant for a better gathering together 

v18 -19 To bring unity among Christians

v20-22 To bless all equally because God does not play favorites.

v27 we would elevate the body, blood of Christ in a worthy manner in our hearts

v28 - 32 A time of much needed self examination / reflection in order to avoid the condemning judgment of God.

What is the focus of Communion?

   To outwardly elevate the body and blood sacrifice for sin of Jesus Christ.

What does each element represent?

   Bread = Body of Christ which is for you. Gives life eternal to the world. John 6:33

   Cup = Mat 26:28  for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. (Old covenant was animal sacrifice repeatedly happened) Christ substitutionary once for all. “It is finished”. His death and sacrifice.

Why should we take it?

   Proclaim the Lord's death until he comes, to remember Jesus’ life, death and sacrifice for us.

   Public symbols that we are unified with Christ.

How often can we take it?

   As often as we want. Literally means many times. You can take Communion daily.

   Communion is a blessing that proclaims the Gospel message.

      To remember & realize the need for salvation.

Who should take Communion?

   Any Christian that is saved by grace through faith by the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Gospel-Centered = 

WORSHIP Take Communion in a worthy manner. As a Christian make sure your heart is grateful to Jesus Christ.

COMMUNITY Take Communion with others. Be ready at any moment to celebrate Communion with other Christians.

SERVICE Celebrate the Christ of Communion. Communion isn’t about us it’s about Jesus.

MULTIPLICATION Offer Communion to other Christians. It is always a good thing to publicly remember Jesus died for the forgiveness of our sins. Someone might get saved in seeing it.

ONE THING: To truly live a good life we must live it biblically.

2 Timothy 3:12-17

CONTEXT: Life fulfillment is found in faithful deeds that do God’s will.

What happens when we don’t continue to study God’s word?

   We are more easily deceived and we can give in to sin and give up on God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

What is one way to know when our words, thoughts and / or deeds are biblical?

   They are in agreement with all of God’s Holy Scriptures.

Based on this message what can we do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel-Centered = 

WORSHIP Study the Bible daily. Make your goal comprehension not just completion.

COMMUNITY Study the Bible with others for their benefit. Encourage them apply the Word.

SERVICE Live out what you learn from Bible study. Faithful deeds every day.

MULTIPLICATION Share biblical truth in brotherly love. Be an example of the love and wisdom of God.

ONE THING:  We should not withhold or withdraw from baptism.

Acts 10:44-48 The Holy Spirit Falls on the Gentiles

CONTEXT:  Baptism is a witnessed celebratory praise to God for the salvation that has been received. Acts 10:1-43

What is baptism?

Baptism is an outward expression of your already inner faith in Jesus.

What is so great about baptism?

   It’s a celebration of a person who has been saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

WORSHIP Be baptized. If you are a Christian then you should be baptized as well.

COMMUNITY Invite others to attend baptisms with you. Celebrate with others when someone gets baptized.  

SERVICE Be ready as a Christian to baptize. When someone wants to be baptized don’t wait, do it ASAP. 

MULTIPLICATION Encourage others to be saved and baptized. Go and make disciples baptizing them.

ONE THING: Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Acts 16:31 JESUS SAVES 

Hebrews 2:1-4

CONTEXT: Whoever believes in Jesus is not condemned but whoever does not believe in Him condemns themselves. John 3:18 URGENCY

How do you know when something is going from bad to worse?

If all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God then who needs salvation? Romans 3:23

   Every single person you work with, live with, worship with and recharge

How can I / someone be saved?

   SALVATION: Acknowledge you have sin and need a Savior. Confess that Jesus is Lord and God raised Him from the dead. Ask God to forgive you of your sins which will lead to your spiritual death from God in Hell no matter how good of a person you think you may be.

Gospel- Centered = 

WORSHIP Pay close attention to the Bible. Be saved and studious. 

COMMUNITY Strengthen others relationship with Jesus. Find out how you can help out in helping others love and live for Jesus.

SERVICE Share the Gospel more and more. Help others to know and remember Jesus saves.

MULTIPLICATION Use your Holy Spirit given gifts to build bridges to Jesus. The way you love others declares this is how Jesus will love them.

ONE THING: The Holy Spirit helps and guides people to God through Jesus Christ by the way of God’s people.   

John 14:15-17, 25-26, 16:7-15

CONTEXT: The Holy Spirit dwells both with and in Christians. 

What is one of the major works of the Holy Spirit?

   To draw people closer to God so they might be saved then become like Christ.

What is one of the ways the Holy Spirit helps Christians?

    By helping them know how to biblically fulfill God’s will like Jesus Christ.

Based on this message what can we do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

WORSHIP Listen and learn from the Holy Spirit. Pray specifically, study the Bible detailedly.

COMMUNITY Take the opportunity for the Holy Spirit to work. Faithfully act in Christlikeness that encourages the Holy Spirit to work in the heart.

SERVICE Do what the Holy Spirit tells you when He tells you. Promptly respond to what the Holy Spirit says is right.

MULTIPLICATION Glorify Jesus alongside the Holy Spirit. Declare Jesus saves and sanctifies. 

ONE THING:  Jesus is the supreme authority over all things.

   All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to him. 

Hebrews 2:14-18

CONTEXT: There is no one or no thing that is better or equal to Jesus for you to faithfully follow.

Why should Jesus be Lord of your spiritual life?

   Reality is He already is, the only thing that is left is if you work with or against Him. 

Why should Jesus be Lord of your physical life?

   Reality is He already is, the only thing that is left is if you work with or against Him.

Gospel- Centered = 

WORSHIP  Praise Jesus for the great things He has done. Such as defeating sin and death through His death and resurrection. 

COMMUNITY Just give them Jesus. Remember it is free to be set free by Jesus. 

SERVICE Be merciful and faithful just like Jesus. When you act this way towards others it helps them to see Jesus is real  

MULTIPLICATION Discuss how Jesus’ way is the only way to live. Help others to know that Jesus can relate to everything they’re going through.

ONE THING: God Sovereignty is the supreme power in everything. 

Romans 9:11, 15-18, 21-24

CONTEXT: Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:37-39

SALVATION: Are you in Christ Jesus?

Why does God make it known that he is all knowing and all powerful and everywhere?

   So that we will follow and serve His great name. 

Why does God endure dishonorable things?

   So that those who have received His mercy will experience His glory as well.

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

WORSHIP Be in glad submission to God’s Sovereignty. Follow His lead to fulfill His will. 

COMMUNITY God’s way every day. More and more do life the way God directs. 

SERVICE Respond to others so that it draws them closer to God. Show them how God leads you. 

MULTIPLICATION Make it plain to all that God is still on the throne!! No matter what happens remind others who is in control.

ONE THING: Follow Jesus in a manner that brings God praise and credit.

1 Thessalonians 2:12-14, 18-19

CONTEXT: Imitate Jesus with the body of Christ that draws people to the Kingdom of God.

Why are we called to imitate God's churches in Christ Jesus?

   So we will remember that God's will & Jesus' example are the life goal.

      Not our way to His narrow way, His way to His narrow way!!!!!

Where does true joy and lasting hope originate?

   Jesus, at work in and through a person(s) that makes them like Him and draws them closer to God.

We exist to bring God glory and make disciples. 

Based on this message what can you do to become more like Jesus?

Gospel- Centered = 

WORSHIP Answer God's call. He is calling you to His Kingdom and glory. Ask & serve Him to find out what that looks like for you.

COMMUNITY Make sure the Word is heard. Thank God constantly for the work He does in and through you.

SERVICE Don't hesitate to imitate Christ. Wash feet, endure graciously the hardships of faith for God's glory and others good.

MULTIPLICATION Hope, Boast and have Joy in Jesus. It's about redemption and transformation that Jesus brings in and through the relationship we have with Him together.
