How often do you feel self doubt?   I got asked this question the other day... and the truth is I feel it regularly!! The thing is though I used to be so guided by my feelings... I let my feelings drive my decision making, until I learnt a better strategy! I (painfully) learnt that my emotions and my feelings were always the best thing to follow when it came to making decisions...   

So I learnt new skills.... I learnt more about the brain, I learnt how to still take action despite how I was “feeling” in the moment... and melt of all I learnt how to kick self doubt to the curb!

The two tips I share in this podcast have come about as a result of my own life lessons, and reinforced over many years by the many coaches I have met and learnt from.  

You know, I was addicted to alcohol for many years in my teens and 20's. And I used to tell myself stories about why I kept it up, even though I really wanted to quit.  

I listened to a podcast this morning by Tony Robbins, and it reminded me of this time, of why it took me so long to move past and conquer my addictions, why despite wanting to change, I kept it up for many years.  

The two tips I share today are not easy, but with them I managed to turn my life around.

Having been inspired by the great Mel Robbins, today I wanted to talk about the second Habit in Stephen Covey's the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. 

That is 'Starting with the End in Mind'.  

If you truly consider -  

'What am I trying to achieve here?  

'Where do I want to end up?' 

'What is my ultimate end goal'  

Then it may become easier to set out smaller, better goals to progress you towards that end goal.

There have been so many times in my life where I didn't know how to do something, and so I just avoided it. For example, when I was in my 20's, I really wanted to scuba dive. But I avoided it because I was afraid I would fail.  

Have you ever done this? Im sure most of us have.  

Over years of development and listening to the great minds in Personal Development, I came to understand something - When we start doing that thing we are avoiding - We get better at it, and we develop more confidence to do it again.  

It's a vicious circle really isn't it - Avoid things you don't know and never progress or grow, or start acting now, get a little better and more confident everyday, and grow as a person.
