A man is in custody and a police officer is dead following a shooting in Abbotsford mall parking lot, where a stolen vehicle report lead to an incident involving an exchange of gunfire between police and an Albertan man.

Officials in Texas are confirming that the man who burst into a small town church and opened fire was 26-year-old Devin Patrick Kelley. He was found dead in his vehicle a short time after yesterday's massacre that killed 26 people and wounded about 20 others. He suffered a self inflicted gunshot wound.

Five people have been arrested after a two-vehicle crash in Nisku (30 minutes south of Edmonton) this morning. Police said a preliminary investigation led investigators to believe the collision was not accidental, and Investigators also believe drugs and alcohol could be factors in the collision. They said five people, all from one of the vehicles and all naked at the time, were taken to hospital and are in police custody. At the time of the crash, the temperature was about -8 C in Nisku.

The BCUC is out with the Site C review. Some of the findings are that the projected budget of 8-point-three billion would balloon to ten billion and it would not stay on schedule for completion in 2024. Of the three  options: to continue, cancel or suspend the project - the panel found suspension to be the least desirable and most expensive -- adding about 3-point 6 billion dollars to the total costs. If the project is cancelled outright immediately - remediating the land would have a one-point-eight billion dollar price tag.
