“If this is just politics as usual, then Heaven help us.” - Republican Senator Jeff Flake of Arizona announced today that he will retire at the end of his term in 2018.

Charles shares words from Flake’s speech today- speaking out against the current state of political affairs in the United States and particularly within the Trump administration.

This past weekend, the Federal Government was forced to face accusations that their tax changes targeted diabetic Canadians. Since May, the government has been refusing a $1500 disability credit that helps Type 1 diabetics, who are already facing medical bills of around $15000 a year.

Finance Minister Bill Morneau released a fall economic statement today that promises $14.9 billion in fresh spending over the next five years, on top of what it had outlined in its March budget. The Trudeau government will dedicate a third of that windfall towards investments, tax relief and new spending on social programs to support children and the working poor.
