Legal pot-- what they expect will happen across the country in the next year and moving forward. Also, according to a new Angus Reid poll, Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister’s approval rating has dropped significantly over the past year. When compared with leaders across the country the Progressive Conservative leader only has a 36% approval rating - down from 53% last September, and a five point drop since June of this year.

A third of Canadians polled say they will at least try smoking pot when it becomes legal next summer….would you? Puerto Rico has been left devastated after Hurricane Maria tore across the island last week. Whole towns have been left without water, power or even phone service, and if that wasn’t enough homes near the Guajataca Dam had to be evacuated after cracks were found in the structure, feeding fears of a collapse. 

The debate continues in Calgary over whether or not fluoride should be added to tap water.  Pro fluoride citizens are urging voters to cast their ballot for a municipal candidate who will work to reinstate fluoridation - something that has been missing from tap water since 2011. Also, is there is an opportunity for the Calgary Flames to leave because of the politics around the arena, or is that just crazy talk at the moment?

The Toronto Star (the organ of the Federal Liberals) published an article from a tax lawyer stating that Prime Minister Trudeau and Bill Morneau have lost their way.

Polling released from Ipsos this morning found that women, non-smokers and millennials are all interested in experimenting with edible marijuana products, once legalization is passed.  A third of Canadians polled say they will at least try smoking pot when it becomes legal next summer. 

This was all set up to be 'Three Things You Don't Need to Know', but we got so many calls on the NFL anthem protests that we decided to go with it. 

Last week, Ontario introduced harsher careless driving penalties for drivers who hurt or kill while on the road. The changes would create a new offence of “careless driving causing death or bodily harm” and would introduce a maximum penalty of a $50-thousand fine, up to two years in jail, and a license suspension of up to five years. But some say that still might not be enough.  

The Invictus Games, started in 2014 by Prince Harry, kicked off its third year this weekend in Toronto with more than 500 athletes from 17 countries competing in the week long event. What’s the difference between this competition and any other global sporting event? All of the athletes military veterans who are either sick, or have been injured in the line of duty.
