How do you build a universe around a character in order to make a successful action film? In this very special episode, I sit down with filmmaker and producer Dimitris Logothetis, to get an insider look into the creative process behind Dimitris' latest movie, Gunner, starring Luke Hemsworth. Dimitris is no stranger to creating characters that inspire, standing firm in their beliefs and actions, and he uses his passion for martial arts to bring a unique flavor to his storytelling.
In this richly textured conversation, we uncover Dimitris's journey that started as an immigrant, and how this experience influenced his vision and work in the entertainment industry, including the push he got from Martin Scorsese to go to film school.
He shares how the essence of the 'underdog' spirit is reflected in his roles as an actor, writer, producer, and director.
We also have a real as it gets discussion on the intricacies of the filmmaking industry. Dimitris provides a clear perspective on funding strategies for films and the art of creating compelling universes that engage audiences.

At Walt Disney Studios, he was Executive Vice President of Motion Pictures and TV Production, where he oversaw the production of classics like Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988), Honey I Shrunk the Kids (1989), Pretty Woman (1990), and later produced Man of the House (1995), Reindeer Games (2000), The Four Feathers (2002), and many more. What’s the most urgent social change movement right now? Perhaps ending poverty, gender equality, or inclusion comes to mind—what about the rights of sentient species? To raise a life for dispassionate mass consumption, waste, and greed is a delay in our evolution as a species. Until we recognize that we are no better than the animals we take for granted.
Kathy Stevens is the founder and visionary of The Catskill Animal Sanctuary, a 150-acre farm refuge for animals rescued from cruel neglect and abandonment. Located two hours north of Manhattan, she combines her passion for teaching and animals to give these creatures a new chance at life while giving people the opportunity to experience their beauty and individuality.

Born in Iran, Shohreh Aghdashloo left everything she loved in the pursuit of a better life—her country, home, and family, during Iran’s Islamic Revolution in the late 70s. She had a goal, packed her bags, and drove her car on a journey that would take her across Europe, leading eventually to the stages of Hollywood, where she has worked on some of the most coveted projects in entertainment.
Her unique voice is immediately recognizable, as is her work, with highlights that include House of Sand and Fog (2003), 24 (2005), The Expanse (2015-2022), and many more.
