In August of 2018, our community lost an incredible human being, Dr. Hindi Krinsky, at the young age of 32. To continue Hindi's legacy, family and friends chose to build three free-standing libraries in her children's school. In order to fill these libraries, we reached out to the community for gently used books.

Today I chat with Leslie Gang, co-founder of Hindi's Libraries who shares with us the tragic story which was then so beautifully turned into an enormous place to give back to those in literacy need.

How one woman went through trauma to then creating her own business to better women and parenting all over the world - Yehudis smith, of imagined consulting is my guest today on Chat With Betty. Join us as we chat about making positive movements out of trauma and into spreading awareness, educating and guiding schools and individuals about CONSCIOUS PARENTING.

There is still so much stigma surrounded by mental health, it's astonishing. The discussion of topics on mental health and awareness is even specifically lower in many faith based communities. 

At Project Proactive, a nonprofit  organization, they tackle this dilemma head on.  Project Proactive aims to offer proactive education, awareness, empowerment, leadership development, unity, and authenticity to any and all individuals, and oh boy have they been successful. Launching their first ever Teen Leadership Development Program this summer with a pretty impressive lineup, live seminars bringing awareness on all topics in mental health, and connecting with resources all over to make sure there is the necessary help available at any time they have started a whole new movement and dont plan to stop. Meet Shoshana Mehler, a behavioral health counselor, certified mental health first aid instructor, and founder as we chat more about different mental health stigmas and ways you can join the team!

On Episode 6 I chat with Bubba Almony all about kindness, and simply being a good human. We specifically chat about Anti bullying - what really is bullying? Where do we draw the line between "playing around with someone" vs actually being hurtful? How can we best guide our children in ways to be more sensitive and aware of words and harmful effects they can potentially have on others?

His journey started off in the world of music where he spent a decade performing and opening for some of the biggest names in hip hop, as well as having his song air nationally as the intro to a TV show for 3 years. In the process of making music he was able to co-found GTPS independent label and a highly successful hip hop blog getthatpaperson.com. Brian then also created Sikey Clothing and co-founded GTPS printing. Eventually, he stepped away from music and made a name for himself in the world of viral videos and sketch comedy. Brian plans to continue making his mark on earth while empowering others through motivational and positive content. He has also recently started working to launch his own TV show called America's Gone Viral with his partner in the endeavor Christine Curran the current host of Dining Divas.
