Náidin, a young dwarven Bard, is far from home and finds himself the target of an assassination plot. He must make it home before the assassin finds him. He is accompanied by Ariena, an elf from the Star Paths, who was at the beginning of their world and creation of his people. Together they find their destiny. This a novelette in a planed series of related shorts. J'nae is currently working on a prequel novella "Náidin's Song: Twins, featuring Náidin and his twin, Kaladin, for release this winter.
