Checked Out In Jersey episodes

  • Checked Out Shorts 04- Wha' Happen' ?

There can be a few subtitles to this episode: "When Pete's Away, The Files Won't Play" or the "Curse of Matt Czigler". The former claim has more concrete evidence to back it up. The latter is harder to prove. You would first have to believe in the supernatural to believe that, just because Matt Czigler was the in-studio guest on the only two shows that had technical problems, he is to blame for this. You could even throw in a third subtitle: "Czig Meister Beer: You'll Love It (and fuck up your recording)". And, even though this is a REAL stretch, perhaps a fourth: "Lessons on Why Matt Should Not Be Trusted With Important Technical Tasks, Especially When Drinking". But that last one is too long so, let's scratch that one: "Lessons on Why Matt Should Not Be Trusted With Important Technical Tasks, Especially When Drinking"

This is just a short conversation with our Dear Leader, Matt Josephs, about why it's Tuesday and you don't/won't have your Monday/or Thursday upload yet. And, unless there is a miracle, you probably won't for a while, if ever.

  • Checked Out Episode 218- I Am Cait Bombs, Cecil's Dead, Jared's a Perv and Winter vs Summer

First, let's start with apologies to the Bandulos-- the band Matt is talking about in the intro segment (and whose name he forgets). They are a great band that deserves to have its name remembered. Check them out here, but, be warned, the video does NOT do them justice. You must see them live.

What a discussion-heavy show this is. We could have given each subject its own segment, but instead we tried to squeeze three into the first. It went so long, we had to cut a lot out. Hmmm...maybe we'll put the uncut version on YouTube. Maybe.

Bruce Jenner's new show, in which he plays the character "Caitlyn", bombed on its premiere night. That was no surprise to us. Sure, maybe he's enough of a Interstate accident scene to slow down and watch him on Diane Sawyer. And, perhaps he's enough of a curiosty to watch him give a sermon on the ESPYs the day after it airs. But the subject of a reality show? Nope. Most people are either completely disinterested in the whole trans-"movement" or uncomfortable with it. We delve into why.

Cecil the Lion. Our beloved Ceicil the Lion. That mighty King of the Jungle that we all grew up watching and hearing about. You remember him. Don't you? Yeah, we don't either. But now we're supposed to care. Like everything else we are conditioned to get in a tizzy about, it's a non-issue. We explain why.

Jared Fogle. Am I the only one who had him pegged as a perv from the first time he appeared in a Subway commercial? Just how much of a perv, I admit, I did not know. Now we do. This interesting conversation rounds out with Pete and Jimmy admitting the only circumstances in which they will fellate a man.

And finally, are you a summer person? Or a winter person? Do you have S.A.D. which causes every waking moment of a winter day to be painful for you? Or are you chubby and hate the way sweat feels pooling up in your folds on a humid summer afternoon? Join the discussion over which season is better and tell us why you think (or don't think) that Winter-lovers are self-haters.

  • Checked Out Episode 217- Czig Meister Contest Announcement, Roddy Piper's Dead and Adult WWE Fans

We start the show talking about the contest we are putting together along with Czig Meister Brewing Company. Pay attention here if you want to win!

And later, on a very special episode of Checked Out: a tragedy occurred last week. WWF (WWE) star, Rowdy Roddy Piper, died of a heart attack.... and we believe Matt caused it. Tune in to find out why.

Then the guys seamlessly move into a psychoanalysis of why full-grown, adult men...many of them "straight" men... are such huge wrestling fans when it is all fake.

  • Checked Out Episode 216- Cosby's Puddin' Pop and Governor Christie's Belly on Trump

R&B Singer, Marquis Allen, sits in with the boys to discuss Cosby and Trump.

What can we say about Bill Cosby that hasn't already been said? Having grown up in the 80's and knowing Bill as "Doctor Huxtable", it is difficult to believe all of the allegations leveled against him within the last year. But, as "Newman" said in Oliver Stone's "JFK", "There's a lot of smoke there, but some fire." And it seems the winds are changing direction and blowing more of that smoke away, revealing just how big and hot those flames really are. (We don't mean rape is hot. We mean, the heat is on the man.) Still, with all the horror and creepiness of these stories, the boys manage to make fun of it and attempt their best Cosby impersonations. Of course, they fail miserably.

Donald Trump is winning fans Left and Right. While many don't agree with his politics (what little we know of them at this point) many of those same people find his big brass ones and frankness to be a breath of fresh air in a world filled with halitosis. That was weak. Whatevs, as the kids say these days. Anyway, Governor Christie's Belly flopped down in the chair for his first appearance as the show's official political analyst. Unfortunately, most of the conversation was spent with Matt trying to get him back on the subject of poilitics, rather than his favorite subject of food. Still, somehow, gold appeared when the Belly joined Marquis Allen in an impromptu, food-based rendition of Marquis's hit, "Making Love".  That's right, ladies, Marquis actually sings on this one!

We just want to take this opportunity to thank Marquis for being a loyal friend to the show and coming on and being a good sport with us. He's really raised the bar for what a great guest should be.

    Enjoy!

  • Checked Out Ep 213- Driving a Tesla and Caitlyn Jenner on the ESPYs

Hey! There's no audio problems this time. Yippee!

In this episode Matt tells the boys about his experience driving a Tesla. If you haven't done so yourself, make friends with someone who has one and take it for a spin. Who cares about saving the environment? Those things are a blast and THAT is why we should all get them. Now go play the lottery so you can afford it.  I'm mean seriously these things have a mode known as "insane mode" and I hear-tell they are about to release a "ludicrous mode". If the give out Lord Helmet helmets I am getting one.

The boys get into the big news of the last week, namely, Bruce Caitlyn Jenner's [stomach] moving sermon at the ESPY Awards. Have you ever wondered why women get so much plastic surgery that they can't move their lips? We do too. Oh, but, don't think you'll find an answer to that question in this episode. Nah. We just mock it... and the speech.

There was supposed to be a second topic, but the Tesla conversation went too long. So, sorry.

  • Checked Out Shorts 02- "Rebel Yell"

We record everything from the moment we sit down to the moment we get up to leave for the night. We feel that the best stuff comes out when we're not actually doing the show. So, from time-to-time we will upload these little shorts taken from what we called "pre-show banter".

In this clip, Pete discovers that Rebel Wilson, the most annoying and obnoxious and unfunny comedic actress out there, is a phony.
