JERSEY GIRLS NAVIGATE LIFE’S HIGHWAY IN “WHAT EXIT?” A NEW WEB SERIES

Morristown, NJ:  What Exit? a new web series about life in New Jersey, is an independently produced comedy created by New Jersey native Sophia Eptamenitis.  Inspired by incidents in her own life mixed with that of her friends, What Exit? is a “down to earth” take on the life of twentysomethings still living at home in the suburbs.  The series which began production in 2011 and continued off and on through 2016, can now be viewed on Amazon Prime.

What Exit? introduces two Jersey Girls and longtime friends Tina and Lexi.  Tina is a true Italian Jersey Girl with big dreams of a fantasy wedding.  Unfortunately Tina’s fiancée breaks up with her on New Year’s Eve. Lexi, her longtime friend, escaped to New York City, where she works in finance, dates guys with potential, and relishes her independence.  It doesn’t last long. When her firm downsizes, Lexi is forced to move home with her parents to work at her family’s Greek diner.  The series follows the friends on their quest for love, a fulfilling career, plus independence from meddling ethnic family members.  

What Exit? was shot on location in northern New Jersey and New York City with a local cast and crew.  Season 2 episodes recently added in May 2015 starring: Jessica Carollo as Tina, Alicia Giangrisostomi as Lexi (recast), and Matthew Knowland as Evan.

The media has you scared. Scared of this strange new phenomenon known as "snow in winter". So, naturally, you rushed to the store for your bread and milk in a panic an warned all your friends on Facebook to avoid this supermarket or that supermarket. You hunkered down for the night expecting to spend the next several days living as if you're in an episode of "Alaska, The Last Frontier". Then you woke up and realized that you've lived through these things before and shook your head saying, "why do I let them trick me every year into thinking I may not survive this?"

Or maybe you're heading back to work after spending your snow day building forts and sleigh riding with your kids (if you have kids who actually sleigh ride and don't just do it on their iPads). During the Super Bowl last week, Lady Gaga gave a well-praised performance during halftime. While her music is awful, the woman knows how to put on a show. Almost immediately, beer-bellied men and catty women across the fruited plains began pointing out a slight "belly" that barely hung over Gaga's waistline. Matt's cousin was so moved by the Lady's bit o' flab that she took to Instagram with pictures of her own belly much to the horror of her family. Matt invited her on to talk about the issue of body-shaming/fat-shaming and how, yes, we should be ashamed of our flabby bodies. 

Did you see the debate between Bernard Sanders and Ted Cruz? Matt and Pete happened to be driving when it came on the radio and they learned a very interesting fact about Ted Cruz's dad's piggy bank. 

Joy Villa, a name we've never heard before, shot to stardom because of a simple blue dress. No, not the same blue dress that made Monica Lewinksy a household name, but a blue dress with what some would consider an equally prurient stain on it. 

And finally, Valentine's Day. Seriously? Can we stop pretending we're doing anything special by doing the same thing as everybody else on one day? Isn't it about time we told Hallmark to stop tricking us and we create our own Valentine's Days that are as unique and personal as the couples creating them? The answer is yes and there is no argument.

Now, Daddio, who has his first job "on the books" with Jeff, will never for get Jeff.
